Job Description

Activate America is a field-oriented Independent Expenditure organization that harnesses
grassroots power to elect Democrats to the U.S. House and Senate. We connect individual
volunteers and organizations with opportunities for direct voter contact through postcards,
phone banking, texting, and canvassing. For the 2024 elections, we are targeting U.S.
Senate races in AZ, MT, NV, OH and PA, as well as competitive House races in those states as
well as California and New York.

The Campaign and Development Associate will help run our voter contact programs, including phone
banking, postcarding and canvassing, and will work with our PAC Director on fundraising.
The ideal candidate will have at least one cycle of campaign and organizing experience,
good writing skills, strong attention to detail, and a creative approach to grassroots civic
engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
● Work with the Postcard Program Manager to support individual volunteers and
postcard groups
● Assist with leading Zoom phone banks, including training new phone
banking volunteers and providing technical assistance
● Coordinate with local partners to identify and develop appropriate canvassing
opportunities for Activate America volunteers
● Recruit, train, and support volunteers
● Recruit community and issue-based groups to join our efforts
● Research and writing projects
● Cultivate donor relationships
● Organize and help run virtual and in-person fundraising and volunteer engagement
events
● Assist with record-keeping and donor correspondence
● Participate in staff and team meetings
● Contribute to the development of overall campaign strategy and tactical decisions

Required Qualifications
● One or more cycles of electoral field organizing or fundraising experience
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills
● Strong interpersonal skills, work ethic, and desire for political change
● Self-starter, with ability to work independently and as part of a team
● Computer savvy- familiar with Excel, Google docs
● Strong attention to detail

Desired Qualifications
● Familiarity with EveryAction (or other CRM)
● Familiarity with Mobilize America
● Fundraising experience

Most of our staff is based in California, but our volunteers are nationwide. We prefer that the Campaign and Development Associate reside in the Bay Area, but we are willing to consider candidates anywhere in the US.
