Jenifer Rajukumar for Public Advocate is seeking ** Campaign Fellows** to work on a competitive Public Advocate race in New York City. We are looking for passionate, hard-working individuals who will work with the campaign team to build a robust voter outreach and turnout program in New York City.
After years of advocacy, empowerment, and justice work across the nation, Jenifer Rajkumar is bringing the fight to City Hall on behalf of all New Yorkers. She made history when she became the first South Asian-American woman ever elected to New York State Office, defeating an 11-year incumbent by the largest vote margin of any challenger in the State.
Responsibilities
Engage directly with voters through door-to-door canvassing, phone banking, texting, and conversations at campaign and community events
Work with campaign staff to plan and execute campaign events including canvasses and phonebanks
Recruit and train volunteers to participate in direct action with the campaign
Other responsibilities as needed
Qualifications
Strong interpersonal skills and high comfort level with talking to voters door to door, over the phone, and at public events on a regular basis
Flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to work in a fast-paced and quickly changing environment
Collaborative mindset and ability to work with a team to accomplish common goals
Interest in electing Democratic candidates and a strong commitment to progressive values
Logistics
This is a part-time position that is flexible with individual schedules. We are requiring around 6 hours a week of work for this opportunity.
