Job Description

The great swing state of Wisconsin often feels like the center of the political and public policy universe, especially during an election year. Major outcomes from abortion rights to voting access often ride on just how many Wisconsinites decide to stay home or show up at the polls. A lot of pressure, right?
Luckily, Wisconsin has a super power: it’s young voters. Over 300,000 college students call Wisconsin home –** when we organize on campuses, students vote. **
Building on work started during the [April 2023 Supreme Court Election](https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/04/11/wisconsin-liberal-youth-vote/), we’re building a scrappy and innovative organization that will organize and inspire  thousands of college students to vote in the 2024 elections.

**What Will You Do?**
We are looking for a Data Manager who knows that conventional campaign data systems often fall short of reaching young voters. We seek someone who is passionate about reaching young voters wherever they are, with the creativity and discipline to adapt conventional data best practices for a universe built by and for young people.
The Data Manager will work closely with the State Director and Organizing Director to:
- Work collaboratively across departments to develop metrics, effective reporting, and data tools
- Oversee the planning, development, and maintenance of automated and manual reports and dashboards that assist with tracking program metrics and progress
- Identify gaps, opportunities, and concerns based on incoming data
- Work with campaign leadership and table partners to develop voter contact universes
- Work to develop, maintain, and improve the campaign’s data infrastructure
- Administer and support VAN and other voter contact tools
- All other duties as assigned

**Who Are You?**
A successful candidate for this role will have:
- At least one cycle of campaign experience in a data role
- Strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, responsiveness, and a passion for the work
- Proficiency with VAN, including experience with VAN as an administrator (e.g., managing user profiles and scripts, creating targets, and utilizing and interpreting scores)
- Intermediate or advanced experience with Excel and/or Google Sheets is required
- Proficiency with SQL strongly preferred
- Proficiency with Google Data Studios, Tableau, and/or other data visualization platforms is a plus
- Prior staff management experience is a plus
