Job Summary:
The Virginia House Democratic Caucus (VHDC) seeks a Deputy Campaigns Director (DCD) to play a major role in protecting and expanding our House Majority in 2025. The DCD will work under the direction of the Campaigns Director and will serve as a liaison between Democratic House of Delegates campaigns and the Caucus. The DCD role will also assist the Campaigns Director with the day-to-day support of candidates and campaigns. The DCD will work with their assigned candidates and campaign managers to provide resources in organizing, communications, fundraising, and general campaign management guidance.
The start date for this role is May 27th, 2025. This is an in-person position based in Richmond, reporting to the Campaigns Director, and termed through December 31st, 2025.

Job Responsibilities:
Work with campaigns to implement and adjust campaign budgets, finance, messaging, and staff plans.
Meet regularly with campaigns to assess progress and needs, and provide updates and strategic guidance under the direction of the Campaigns Director.
Track field and fundraising numbers on a weekly (and eventually daily) basis.
Produce reports on campaign progress for the Campaigns Director and Caucus leadership team.
In collaboration with other Caucus staff, provide direct resources and support (such as scripts, emails, questionnaire guidance, data, talking points, graphics) to campaigns.
Work with Caucus Finance team on cashflow/budgeting guidance
Help to monitor opposition activity and work with campaigns to develop Rapid Response plans.
With the Campaigns Director, work with allies and partners to coordinate voter outreach and field planning efforts.
Act as the Caucus representative when needed to campaigns and their partners.
Compensation:
Salary range for this position is $5,500-$7,000 a month, commensurate on qualifications and experience.
All Caucus staff are provided with a full health care benefits package, including vision and dental. All health insurance premiums are covered 100% by the employer. Employer-sponsored 401(k) plans are available to employees.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum two years experience working on campaigns, including experience with budgeting, fundraising, field, or communications.
Ability to plan, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills, able to effectively communicate with people in a wide variety of positions.
Ability to work nights and weekends when needed.
Access to a car and available to drive for work.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
Experience as a campaign manager or senior staffer in Virginia.
Experience training candidates and campaign staff.
