Job Description

**About the Race**
North Carolina is home to over 560,000 college students across over 100 college campuses, including 10 HBCUs. Young voters have the numbers and the power to shape the future of our state through leadership in the electoral process. And in a state like North Carolina, even a small increase in student voter turnout could shape our state for years to come.

That’s why we’re building **Rally NC** - an entrepreneurial and innovative operation to protect and expand democracy by elevating youth leadership across the state in order to empower thousands of college students to take control of their futures, get organized, and vote in the 2024 elections. We're done waiting for change. We're ready to make it happen.

Rally NC is part of a collection of state-based organizations working to mobilize student voters through creative, student-driven tactics. The North Carolina organization will build on work done by similar teams in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

**What Will You Do?**
The Deputy Director will be the State Director’s thought partner on all aspects of Rally NC. In addition to developing internal strategy, campaign guidance, and thought leadership, this senior level position will work closely with the State Director to:
- Execute special projects as directed by the State Director.
- Cultivate community and political relationships that expand the reach, inclusion, and cultural competency of our work and improve the efficacy of any assigned special projects.
- Contribute to statewide planning for constituency and coalition work that is inclusive of BIPOC, queer, & rural youth voters as well as students at tech, trade, community colleges, and HBCUs.
- Work collaboratively across departments to ensure our systems, from hiring to campus outreach, are inclusive and accessible.
- Manage key partner and political relationships across NC.
- Support the State Director in goal setting, goal achievement, and organizational success.
- All other duties as assigned.

**Who Are You?**
A successful candidate for this role will have:
- At least three cycles of campaign experience, at least one in a Director role
- Strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, responsiveness, and a passion for the work
- Proficiency with VAN, including experience with VAN as an administrator (e.g., managing user profiles and scripts, creating targets, and utilizing and interpreting scores)
- Experience managing budgets and/or vendors
- Prior staff management experience is a plus

**Job Details: **Compensation for this role is $7,000 per month and includes health benefits, 401K, and a technology stipend. This is a full time, exempt role.
