Job Description

**Status:** Exempt

**Salary: **Starting at $125,000
**Job Summary: **The Development Director leads the Development team and all of ECU/LAV’s fundraising programs. They are responsible for working with senior organizational leadership to create fundraising goals and budgets. They oversee fundraising efforts headed up by internal staff and external consultants. They continually look for ways to innovate ECU/LAV’s fundraising from both high-dollar and grassroots donors, including creating front-facing materials for donors, organizing events, directing ECU/LAV call time, and assisting endorsed campaigns with fundraising. 
 
**Primary Responsibilities: **
- Oversee the development department and direct ECU/LAV’s fundraising efforts.
- Develop, and execute, and grow ECU/LAV's high dollar fundraising program.
- Manage fundraising consultants to expand and grow ECU/LAV fundraising programs.
- Direct candidate bundling program to support ECU/LAV endorsed candidates.
- Coordinate across departments to support ECU/LAV priorities and endorsed candidates.
- Support senior leadership’s fundraising meetings and communications.
- Serve as a member of the ECU/LAV leadership team
- May occasionally travel for work purposes and be required to attend events in the D.C. area that fall outside of typical working hours
- Perform additional duties as assigned
**Qualifications:**
- 10+ years experience in development, with at least 6 years of focus on political fundraising
- Experience with major donor and institutional fundraising is preferred
- A commitment to protecting democracy, including getting Big Money out of politics, expanding voting rights, and fighting corruption in politics 
- An understanding of how race, class, and other identities intersect with our work

**Job Location:** This position is based in Washington, D.C. where our staff work in our office in-person a minimum of 2 days a week. Relocation stipend available.
