Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Event Planner to join Devon's dynamic campaign team for his concurrent runs for position 6 on the McKenzie School District #68 School Board and position 6 (at-large) for the Lane Education Service District Board of Directors in Lane County, OR. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in planning, organizing, and executing all campaign events, including fundraisers, town halls, and public appearances, to maximize Devon's visibility and engagement with voters. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a passionate campaign that aims to make a significant impact in the education sector.

### **Responsibilities:**
- Plan, design, and produce events while managing all project delivery elements within time limits.
- Liaise with vendors, stakeholders, and campaign team members to ensure effective event execution.
- Conduct market research, gather information, and negotiate contracts prior to closing any deals.
- Provide feedback and periodic reports to stakeholders.
- Propose ideas to improve provided services and event quality.
- Ensure compliance with insurance, legal, health, and safety obligations.
- Specify staff requirements and coordinate their activities.
- Cooperate with marketing and PR to promote and publicize events.
- Proactively handle any arising issues and troubleshoot any emerging problems on the event day.
- Conduct pre- and post-event evaluations and report on outcomes.

### **Requirements:**
- Proven experience as an event planner or organizer. Experience in political campaigns is a plus.
- Excellent time management and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently.
- MS Office proficiency.
- Willingness to submit to a background check.
- A team player with leadership skills.
- BS in Event Management or related field is preferred. A degree will not be required if you have the necessary experience.
