Job Description

John “Johnny O” Olszewski Jr.’s congressional campaign in MD-02 seeks Field Organizer(s) to join the campaign and to help execute the field program. This role reports directly to the Organizing Director and is based in Baltimore County, MD. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis, with a potential start date as early as March 18th, 2024.

Background:
Olszewski is the current Baltimore County Executive. With the retirement of Rep. Dutch Ruppersberger, Johnny O is running for Maryland’s 2nd Congressional District. Campaign staff will be working towards winning the Democratic primary in May.

Job Responsibilities:
● Directly contact voters through canvassing, phone banking, and text banking
● Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to participate in direct voter contact programs
● Organize volunteer events such as canvasses, phone banks, text banks, and and relational
programming
● Meet weekly and monthly goals for assigned turf, and track progress through reporting
systems
● Meet weekly door and phone goals as set by the campaign

● Commitment to Democratic values and to electing John Olszewski Jr. to congress
● Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively and clearly communicate
● Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize projects while
working on a deadline
● Flexible, adaptable, team player with a solutions-oriented mindset
● Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in working with fellow staff and
volunteers
● Access to a smartphone and laptop
● Access to a vehicle, as well as a valid driver’s license

● Ability to work campaign hours, including nights and weekends as needed
● Willingness to move to or near the district and travel throughout district as needed
● Ties to Maryland and/or the district are welcomed, but not required
