Job Description

Kristian Carranza for TX HD-118 is looking for a full time Finance Director to join our team for the 2024 election cycle. Kristian Carranza is a community organizer and political strategist born and raised on the Southside of San Antonio, where she is now running to flip the most competitive seat in the Texas House. The ideal candidate will be creative, detail-oriented, and prepared to build a comprehensive fundraising program. The Finance Director will be a full-time employee and a core member of our senior staff. The Finance Director will work closely with the Campaign Manager, candidate, campaign staff, consultant teams, and key partners to maintain and expand existing donor relationships.
This will be a full position with a start date of April 15 and running through the end of November 2024. The selected candidate will need to relocate to San Antonio, TX. This position will report to the Campaign Manager.
**Job Responsibilities include: **
- ● Develop, manage, and implement an aggressive finance plan for the campaign, including weekly, monthly, and quarterly projections across all fundraising operations
- ● Work with the Campaign Manager to manage the campaign’s budget and cash flow
- ● Develop and maintain relationships with existing donors, and cultivate relationships
- with new in-state and national donors to expand the campaign's donor network
- ● Manage fundraising event planning and execution with in-state and national donors.
- ● Staff and manage candidate call time when necessary
- ● Create accountability structures for the Finance team
- ● Establish a strong, professional, and empowering team culture within the larger
- campaign environment
- ● Work closely with the Campaign Manager, candidate, consultant team, and others to
- develop fundraising priorities for the campaign
- ● Maintain strong working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders
- ● Work quickly and accurately under pressure and in rapid response environments
- ● Serve as a core member of the campaign’s senior staff
- ● Staff events when necessary
- ● Manage junior Finance staff
- **Qualifications for this role include: **
- ● Motivated to elect Kristian Carranza and flip Texas’ 118th State House District
- ● Prior campaign finance experience preferred, but not required
- ● Knowledge of fundraising best practices such as call time, event planning and management, donor research and cultivation, and digital fundraising preferred
- ● Ability to prioritize and meet urgent deadlines when tasked with multiple important projects
- ● Strong organizational and time management skills
- ● Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- ● Detail-oriented
- ● Enthusiasm for working in an organization with a culture of respect, empowerment,
- and inclusion
- ● A valid driver's license and reliable access to a vehicle
- ● Access to a cell phone, laptop, and reliable internet
- ● Ability to balance competing tasks in a fast-paced, demanding environment while
- ● Willingness to work odd hours, including evenings and weekends sometimes.
