Job Description

Lisa Blunt Rochester for Senate is seeking an Organizer. Lisa Blunt Rochester is seen as a rising star in the Democratic party and Co-Chair of the Biden-Harris Campaign. She has served four terms as Delaware’s At-Large Congresswoman. If elected, Blunt Rochester would be the state’s first female and first Black U.S. Senator.
The primary responsibility of an Organizer is to recruit, manage, and train volunteers to organize their communities and neighborhoods into teams that persuade and turn out voters. Their responsibilities include but are not limited to: developing a plan to organize their region, developing volunteer leaders, planning and executing events, building relationships with community leaders, and ensuring data integrity. This position is based in Delaware and reports directly to the Regional Organizing Director. This is a full-time job and candidates must be able to work flexible hours which include nights, weekends, and long hours at times.

Responsibilities:
● Organize in-person voter outreach and related events, including setting up phonebanks, text banks, and canvassing
● Recruit and develop volunteers to support voter registration and Get Out The Vote (GOTV) in the community and develop lasting activist infrastructure
● Attend local events including coalition meetings, small club meetings, trainings, etc.
● Work with existing volunteer teams and community leaders to support their development and organizing goals
● Build and maintain relationships with counterparts in allied organizations
● Regularly enter and review data in VAN
● Meet metrics-based goals as set by organization leadership
● Work extended hours as the cycle progresses
● Other duties as assigned
● Regular local and in-state travel required

Qualifications:
● There are no formal education requirements for this position
● Experience growing up or working in diverse communities and a demonstrated commitment to diversity and empowerment
● Task and time management skills
● Experience planning, setting up, and staffing events
● Access to reliable transportation and a driver’s license
● Familiarity with Google suite
● Attention to detail when reviewing documents and organizing personal workspaces

Compensation: $4,000/month, health insurance, $50/month phone stipend
