Summary: The Texas Offense is seeking an experienced Organizing Director to lead a diverse and robust organizing team in Texas in 2024. We are looking for passionate, hardworking individuals who are committed to building the coordinated campaign working to elect Democrats up and down the ballot in November 2024. The Organizing Director will be responsible for coaching and managing a team of Deputy Organizing Directors, Regional Organizing Directors, and their organizers to implement voter contact and volunteer recruitment programs across the state in a first of its kind bilingual approach. The Organizing Director should be a skilled manager, creative thinker, solutions-oriented, and capable of motivating a diverse staff. The Organizing Director will report to the Coordinated Campaign Director. This is a full-time, in-person, cycle-based position in Dallas, Texas, and expected to end in November 2024.
Responsibilities:
Hire and manage a team of Deputy Organizing Directors and Regional Organizing Directors to implement an in person organizing plan that includes; Voter Registration, Mobilization and Persuasion in a bilingual fashion
Develop and implement organizing plan that will lead the organizing team to recruit more volunteers and meet voters where they are in both Spanish and English.
Create strategies and systems that lead your teams to successfully meet daily and weekly organizing metrics, as well as maintain data integrity
Work effectively with other campaign departments to facilitate support structures for the organizing team
Collaborate with state leadership to implement new communications, messaging, and digital strategies
Ensure that all organizing staff are properly trained on the technical aspects of the job, and work with the training team to fill the gaps and raise the floor of productivity
Other duties as assigned by the Coordinated Campaign Director.
Required Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively and clearly communicate with different types of stakeholders, from high level elected officials to grassroots activists
Commitment to active listening and collaboration with teammates and stakeholders
Experience meeting deadlines, and the ability to manage many tasks simultaneously
Strong communication skills and ability to communicate priorities, needs, and expectations to organizing staff and managers, both orally and in writing
Desire to ask questions, receive constructive feedback, and grow as a professional, as well as do the same for the staff that this position manages.
Access to a vehicle and a cellphone
Preferred Background and Experience:
Proficiency with Votebuilder/VAN
Salary And Benefits: Salary for this position is $8,000 a month. The Texas Democratic Party offers medical, vision, and dental insurance. Employee’s insurance premiums are paid fully by TDP. This is a cycle-only position.
Location: This is an in-person role based in person in Dallas, TX and the ability to work remotely will not be available. This role will require statewide travel.
