Thank you for your interest in the National Redistricting Action Fund (NRAF). NRAF is the 501(c)(4) affiliate of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee (NDRC). The mission of NRAF is to harness the power of people and the courts to dismantle unfair electoral maps and create a redistricting system based on democratic values. By helping to create more just and representative electoral districts across the country, we also hope to restore the public’s faith in a true representative democracy.
NRAF offers paid internship opportunities during Spring, Summer, and Fall, for ** current** undergraduate and graduate students only. Our internships are designed to be an integral part of your educational experience, offering practical skills and insights that complement your academic studies.
Along with the work you will complete with your department, all of our interns participate in our intern cohort experience, which includes a professional development training, introduction calls with our executive leadership team and directors, opportunities to get to know your fellow interns, and more.
We accept applications on a rolling basis, and our 2027 applications for all three cohorts are open now. If you applied for our internship program for any of our 2026 cohorts, please reapply to be considered for the 2027 cohorts.
Summer internships are full time (up to 32-40 hours per week), and Spring & Fall internships are part time (up to 15-20 hours per week).

Technical Considerations
We operate as a remote workplace. We ask that all staff have a designated workspace for them to utilize during their working hours.
This role requires access to a computer or laptop that can operate Google Suite seamlessly.
Applicant familiarity with Google Suite (GMail, GCal, GDocs, Sheets, Etc.) is preferred. To learn more about using Google Suite, visit the Google Workspace Learning Center.

Hiring Process
Our hiring process varies from department to department. However, regardless of which department you apply to, you can expect to complete 1-2 interviews, and potentially a short skills assessment.
Due to the high volume of applications we receive, we are unable to provide status updates to every applicant, however we guarantee you will be notified of any decisions after applications close for that semester.
