We are seeking an Academic Writing and AI Learning Consultant to support students in developing effective writing practices and using artificial intelligence responsibly. The role focuses on essay planning, research evaluation, structured revision, and independent learning.
The consultant will help students interpret assignment instructions, formulate a research question, develop a thesis statement, and organize an outline. Support should strengthen student judgment while preserving ownership of the argument and submitted work.
Key Responsibilities
Guide students through planning, drafting, revision, editing, and proofreading.
Evaluate paragraph structure, topic sentences, logical progression, and the relationship between claims and evidence.
Teach students to assess source quality, verify citations, and apply appropriate reference formatting.
Provide actionable feedback that explains writing problems and supports independent correction.
Demonstrate how a writing assistant can support brainstorming, outline evaluation, and focused draft review.
Help students assess automated feedback and identify unsupported claims in a generated draft.
Support word count management and deadline planning without compromising analytical depth.
Reinforce academic integrity, plagiarism awareness, and compliance with applicable course policies.
Approach to AI-Supported Learning
The consultant should introduce each digital tool through a defined learning objective. Students should understand what assistance they are requesting, how to evaluate output quality, and which decisions remain their responsibility.
When students wish to find out more about EssaysBot during a consultation, the consultant should guide them toward evaluating its suitability against assignment requirements, institutional expectations, and their specific learning needs.
Effective support should establish a feedback loop: identify a writing problem, examine suggestions, test a revision, and explain the resulting change. The objective is sustained development of writing skills, critical thinking, and writing confidence.
Required Qualifications
Experience in academic writing instruction, tutoring, educational consulting, or a related student support role.
Strong understanding of essay development, evidence evaluation, citation practices, and the research process.
Ability to explain complex writing issues clearly and provide constructive feedback.
Familiarity with language model limitations, including inaccurate statements and unverified references.
A consistent approach to responsible use of AI and student authorship.
