Role Overview

We are looking for a strategic Account Manager to drive the growth and retention of our key political and advocacy accounts heading into the 2026 midterm cycle.

As the Account Manager, you will be the key client contact, and act as a strategic partner to ensure their campaigns succeed. You will not just oversee campaign delivery; you will help clients clarify and hone their digital campaign needs, acting as a consultant and interpreter who understands their political goals and, and advocates for ways that our team can help achieve them. In this role, you will facilitate the execution of digital advertising campaigns for medium-to-large accounts, acting autonomously as the bridge between even our largest clients and our internal AdOps and Product teams. You will also take on mentorship and oversight responsibilities, overseeing and reviewing the work of other team members and contributing to broader team operations.

 

Core Responsibilities

Time allocation: Strategic Account Management (50%), Commercial Growth & Business Development (30%), Mentorship and Cross-Functional Operations (20%)

  • Strategic Account Ownership: Own the end-to-end relationship for a portfolio of high-value mostly US clients. You are responsible for client retention, satisfaction, and account growth. You will act as the senior escalation point, ensuring we keep the trains running on time for our most critical campaigns.

  • **Commercial Growth:**Drive revenue by identifying up-sell opportunities and leading renewal conversations. You will work closely with the Director of Accounts, the CEO, and the Business Development Director to pitch new business, representing Electica at conferences and potentially leading strategy sessions or other thought leadership activities

  • Consultative Strategy: Ensure the development of sophisticated media plans in coordination with our AdOps team. You will work with clients to define KPIs and audience targeting requirements, ensuring our campaigns deliver real-world political impact and that client expectations are met.

  • Reporting & Narrative: Oversee the delivery of high-level campaign analysis. You will ensure we are not just sending data, but "telling the best story" that connects our results to the client's political objectives.

  • People Management: Potential to coach and mentor 1-2 Associate/Senior Associate(s), including being responsible for overseeing their professional development, conducting regular check-ins, and ensuring the quality of their work.

 

Ideal Experience

  • Account Management Experience: 4+ years (2 cycles) of experience in account management or program management for Digital products/services - and exposure to the political or progressive advocacy ecosystem, covering:

  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships

  • Experience serving as primary point of contact for multiple clients simultaneously

  • Track record of client retention and account growth

  • Ability to manage client expectations and handle difficult conversations

  • Digital Ads Knowledge: Practical experience in the Digital Advertising ecosystem, including current best practices for digital political ad campaigns specifically.

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to see beyond daily tasks to understand the client's broader political strategy. Confidence in advising Campaign Managers / Digital Directors on how to allocate their budget most effectively.

  • Communications Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities along with strong presentation skills for client meetings and pitches. Active listening and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Commercial Acumen: Understanding of an Agency business and comfort with discussing budgets, negotiating contracts, and identifying opportunities to grow revenue.

  • Project Management: Strong organization skills with the ability to define and manage multiple projects and competing deadlines that span teams.

  • Tech Savviness: Strong familiarity with the digital campaigning ecosystem, including DSPs (eg Google Ads, Meta Business Manager, The Trade Desk), CRMs (eg HubSpot), and/or data visualization tools (eg LookerStudio).

 

Compensation and benefits

  • Total target compensation in the region of $100-112k per year, including:

  • Base salary ($85-95k)
