The Advance Associate develops and prepares every candidate event — site visits, staging, logistics, and day-of execution. As the campaign ramps into the general election, the event schedule will be packed. This role requires someone detail-oriented, cool under pressure, and willing to travel extensively across Kansas.
Work with the campaign team to develop and plan events across the state, including identifying locations, topics, and audiences.
Conduct advance site visits for all candidate events, including venue walkthroughs, staging assessments, and logistics planning.
Coordinate event logistics, including setup, signage, audio/visual equipment, crowd management, and teardown.
Prepare advance memos for each event detailing logistics, timing, key contacts, and contingency plans.
Serve as the on-site lead for event execution, ensuring all elements run on schedule.
Coordinate with local hosts, venue staff, law enforcement, and volunteers on event day.
Work with the Scheduling Director and field team to ensure events are well-attended and logistically sound.
Manage post-event breakdown and resolve any outstanding logistical issues.
Prior advance or event management experience on a political campaign or in event production preferred.
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to anticipate logistical challenges.
Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders under pressure.
Willingness to travel extensively and work irregular hours.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Success for the Advance Associate will be measured by the seamless execution of campaign events, the quality and thoroughness of advance preparations, and the ability to handle unexpected challenges calmly and effectively on-site.
