Alex Bores for Congress (NY-12) – Hybrid (Manhattan, NY)

Compensation: Unpaid; academic credit available where applicable

Duration: January 2026 – June 2026

Alex Bores for Congress is seeking motivated and passionate fellows to join our team for the 2026 Democratic Primary in New York’s 12th Congressional District. This fellowship offers hands-on experience in a competitive federal campaign and is an excellent opportunity for students and early-career professionals interested in Democratic politics, public service, and grassroots organizing.

About the Role

Campaign Fellows will work closely with campaign staff to support day-to-day operations and core programmatic work. Fellows will gain direct exposure to field organizing, communications, data, and campaign administration while playing a meaningful role in a fast-paced congressional race.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist with voter outreach efforts, including phone banking, text banking, canvassing, and volunteer engagement.

  • Support field and organizing staff with volunteer recruitment, training preparation, and turnout efforts.

  • Help manage and track campaign data, including voter contact results and volunteer participation.

  • Conduct research on district issues, voter demographics, opposition, and policy priorities.

  • Support communications efforts by helping draft social media content, digital messaging, and campaign materials.

  • Assist with event planning and execution, including fundraisers, community events, and volunteer activities.

  • Provide general administrative and operational support, including scheduling, preparing materials, and coordinating with staff and volunteers.

Qualifications

  • Ability to commit at least 10 hours per week during the Fellowship period.

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, or a recent graduate, preferably in political science, communications, public policy, or a related field.

  • Strong interest in Democratic politics, campaigns, and grassroots organizing.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced campaign environment.

  • Familiarity with campaign tools (e.g., VAN) is a plus, but not required.

Location

This is a hybrid position, with a mix of remote work and in-person activities based in New York City and NY-12.
