Role: Campus Organizer
Location and Timeline: We are hiring an organizer in Springfield, MO, and surrounding areas beginning August 24th, lasting through Election Day.

General Overview: The Campus Organizer will work on student voter turnout and mobilization efforts. Organizers will manage 8-12 hourly campus fellows and a team of volunteer activists to execute a rigorous campaign plan to register young voters, collect thousands of pledge-to-vote cards, host engaging educational events, and build digital engagement – all aimed at mobilizing students to turn out and vote.
What You'll Do:
Hit Campaign Deliverables
Manage a team of 8-12 campus fellows, sending out 10 daily canvass shifts at peak, that meet or exceed weekly and monthly goals.
Gather thousands of pledge-to-vote cards on campus, register students to vote, and host recurring events and activities to mobilize students
Develop strategic plans to reach students on campus
Lead by example by canvassing independently and/or with staff three days per week on average to achieve individual and team goals.
Generate regular volunteer campaign actions and train attendees and fellows on key campaign actions to meet deliverables, like canvassing, phone banking, and hosting events
Organize and execute in-person events demonstrating support for key campaign issues and excitement around the upcoming election, including educational events, trainings, rallies, and more.
Staff Management and Team Building
Recruit, train, and manage 8–12 Hourly Campus Fellows and volunteer activists.
Mobilize supporters for grassroots actions via calls and texts.
Find new volunteers through petition drives, class announcements, and campus outreach.
Equip, motivate, and manage the team to reach goals using trainings, 1:1s, team meetings, and campaign updates.
Identify, train, and promote leaders.
Maintain performance standards with consistent feedback, evaluation, and accountability.
Build a fun, professional culture where staff can be authentic.
Ensure all individuals and subordinate managers treat people with respect.
Fundraise alongside staff to lead by example and provide in-field development.
Oversee Operations and Administration:
Create fellow schedules, develop turf plans, oversee daily logistics, track field and performance information, process payroll, ensure all tools and technology necessary for canvassers to be successful in the field are available and functional.
Nail 100% of all messaging and legal requirements and ensure that volunteers do the same.
Anticipate workflow and manage the schedules and quality of work for employees. Ensure company policies are upheld, including holding staff accountable to performance, integrity, health, safety, and professionalism standards.
Manage fellow onboarding, including occasionally interviewing and offering candidates
Manage Digital Campaign, Data Management, and Reporting Tools by completing nightly
Track every interaction with detailed notes in order to report numbers daily and write weekly reports on the results of the campaign.

Organizing experience within or around your congressional district.
Experience working for nonprofits and issue campaigns.
Data Management and Evaluation Experience.
Experience with Relevant Campaign Tools and Technologies: VAN, Action Network, ThruText, MailChimp, EveryAction, or social media tools.
Event or Project Planning & Management.
Knowledge or previous experience working on this issue.

Salary, Benefits and Perks:
The salary for this position is $55,000 to $67,000 for full-time at 50 hours per week.
We offer a generous benefits package, including paid vacation and sick leave, health insurance, and hands-on training. At the end of the campaign, there may be opportunities for advancement and bonuses.
