We are hiring Lead & Deputy Directors to manage our offices in Green Bay and Milwaukee, WI. Deputy Field Directors will recruit, train, and manage a team of local canvassers to door knock for Voces de la Frontera. Directors will work within their team to build an office to scale from the ground up. All directors are expected to train staff in the field while leading by example themselves; they must also communicate long and short term goals to staff and manage campaign reporting. The Deputy Directors manage field staff and Team Leads and report to the Lead Director.
Voces de la Frontera is an immigrant and worker lead member organization that advocates for their rights through direct demonstrations and community organizing. Our campaign will be going door to door to build political power in the Latine community by engaging voters and identifying issues most important to the Latine community, educating and organizing around those issues, and mobilizing fired-up voters for the general presidential election.
We are hiring immediately. This position can run through September 6th, with opportunities to extend.
Locations: Green Bay and**** Milwaukee, WI. Strong preference for in-state candidates, short-term travel may be required.
Canvass Management Responsibilities:
Manage a team of 30-45 hourly staff who will be collecting signatures for a state-wide ballot initiative
Set goals and hold staff accountable
Train and provide ongoing motivation and support to staff
Identify, promote, and train a leadership team
Build a diverse team where staff feel respected, while fostering a culture of equity and justice
Implement quality control measures to ensure integrity of the work
Go in the field yourself a few days per week to collect signatures, train staff, and help drive office goals
Maintain a healthy and safe working environment for all staff
Develop strategic plans to reach registered voters in assigned locations
Manage administrative duties, including reporting data, record keeping, processing payroll, and distribution of materials
Qualifications:
Must have
Leadership experience, ability to motivate a large teamLeadership experience, ability to motivate, grow, and manage a large team.
Eagerness to lead from the front and canvass several days a week.
Extreme attention to detail and a proven ability to instill that quality in others.
Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills.
Strong passion for community organizing and fostering civic engagement.
Track record of equity and inclusion.
Ability to work long hours, including evenings and weekends.
Nice-to-have
Experience running paid canvasses or managing paid employees
Familiarity with VAN
Experience working in underserved or marginalized communities
Facilitation experience
Local knowledge/experience
Salary: The salary range for this position is $1,146 - $1,412 per week. We offer a generous benefits package, including paid vacation and sick leave, health insurance, and hands-on training. At the end of the campaign, there may be opportunities for advancement and bonuses.
