The Campaign Coordination Manager will primarily help lead JD’s efforts to ensure our endorsed candidates win their races, and support our efforts to recruit the next generation of progressive leaders in Congress.
This includes hiring and overseeing campaign staff, building out plans for each campaign department, and working closely with team members and consultants to ensure our candidates hit their goals. The ideal candidate has high emotional intelligence and communication skills, is able to build trusting relationships with a wide array of individuals, the instinct to lean into productive conflict, and a well-rounded background across campaign departments.

Responsibilities
Winning Campaigns (85%)
Recruit, hire and train skilled teams of staff for each of our campaigns
Maintain close, supportive relationships with the candidates, staff, and consultants to help develop effective budget, field, finance, paid media, and political outreach plans and work closely with campaign teams to ensure we hit those goals.
Proactively look for ways each of our campaigns can scale and improve their progress towards goals
Report out campaign progress to the rest of JD staff, and work internally with other staffers, especially the campaigns, communications, and finance teams, to ensure we are providing the best services possible in helping our campaigns hit their goals.
Help maintain political relationships with coalition partners.
Travel to campaigns as needed to provide direct support.
Candidate Recruitment and Endorsement (15%)
Coordinate with the Candidate Recruitment Manager to support execution of the candidate recruitment program and endorsement process.
Conduct district outreach across the country, having in-depth conversations with community leaders to power map communities and identify potential nominees.
Hold relationships with key local stakeholders in congressional districts.
Qualifications
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain strong relationships, communicate effectively, and move through tension/disagreements productively.
Significant campaign leadership experience, ideally within multiple campaign departments.
Experience advancing a set of priorities within a coalition and/or complicated staff structure
Strong management skills, including project management, setting work plans, supporting campaign staff in hitting their goals, and giving feedback.
Ability to turn complex/abstract goals into monthly, weekly, and daily priorities, and to hold yourself accountable to achieving them
1-3 cycles of campaign experience and/or other commensurate organizing and management experience
Willingness to ask for support when needed
Interest and experience in a variety of aspects of campaign work, such as local political work, paid media, field strategy, etc
Ability to operate well in a high-pressure environment

$85,500 annual salary
