About the Race
Rick Crosson for Congress is the campaign to elect Rick Crosson to represent Wisconsin's 8th Congressional District. Rick is a retired U.S.
Army Lieutenant Colonel and Master Army Aviator with twenty years of service. WI-08 covers ten counties across Northeast Wisconsin, including Green Bay,
Appleton, and the Fox Valley. The district is widely considered to be solidly red. In 2024, it went 57 to 43, a seven-point shift with no party investment.
We believe the remaining distance is reachable with the right organization on the ground. We are a lean, scrappy team and believe this district can flip,
especially this year, if we put the work in. If you like the underdog races, this one is for you.
What Will You Do?
Rick Crosson's campaign is hiring two paid Campaign Fellows to provide operations and administrative support through the general election. Fellows manage the campaign inbox, intake and track requests, support event logistics, and staff the candidate at public events.
This is a small campaign without a large staff, which means Fellows take on substantive responsibility immediately rather than observing for several weeks first.
Approximately 15 to 20 hours per week, with scheduling built around class schedules or other employment. Most work is performed remotely, with some in-person event requirements.
Responsibilities include:
Monitor the campaign inbox daily. Review, categorize, route, and respond to incoming email, ensuring no message goes unaddressed for more than one business day.
Log incoming requests into campaign trackers so that leadership can review and make decisions from a single organized list. Request categories include meeting requests, event and speaking invitations, endorsement questionnaires, volunteer inquiries, and yard sign requests.
Enter events into the campaign calendar and event tracker with sufficient detail to support a scheduling decision, including date, location, host, audience, and time commitment.
Identify and escalate time-sensitive items immediately rather than holding them until a scheduled check-in.
Staff the candidate at public events, including managing sign-in tables, collecting supporter contact information, distributing materials, capturing photos, and entering sign-in data afterward.
Perform data entry and list maintenance in VAN, Action Network, and Mobilize.
Conduct research support including public records requests, local government meeting agendas, and news monitoring.
Provide general administrative and operational support as campaign needs require.
Who Are You?
As a successful candidate for the job, you will:
Reliability and consistent attendance. This is the single most important qualification for this role.
Same-day responsiveness to messages.
Ability to distinguish urgent items from routine ones, and willingness to ask when uncertain.
Strong attention to detail, including catching errors in dates, addresses, names, and event information.
Comfort interacting with members of the public at campaign events.
Working proficiency with email, spreadsheets, and shared documents such as Google Workspace.
Must be 18 years of age or older and authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications (Helpful, but not required)
Prior administrative, customer service, office management, hospitality, or event support experience.
Familiarity with VAN, VoteBuilder, Mobilize, or Action Network. Training will be provided.
Prior political or volunteer experience is helpful but is not required. Genuine interest in the work is required.
