The campaign is focused on improving infrastructure, keeping utilities affordable, restoring public access to local government, and ensuring taxpayer dollars are spent responsibly on priorities that directly benefit residents — not political vanity projects.
We are building a strong grassroots campaign rooted in community engagement, voter outreach, and people-powered organizing, and we are seeking a motivated Campaign Fellow to join our team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a college student, recent graduate, or aspiring political professional looking to gain hands-on experience in campaign management, fundraising, communications, and local politics during a highly visible mayoral race in a city of approximately 5,500 residents.
The Campaign Fellow is an entry-level leadership support role responsible for assisting with a wide range of campaign activities including operations, field organizing, fundraising, communications, scheduling, voter outreach, and event coordination.
This role will work closely with campaign leadership and function in many ways as a hybrid between a junior campaign manager and finance assistant/director role — helping oversee the day-to-day execution of campaign activities in a fast-paced environment.
Assist with daily campaign operations and strategic planning.
Coordinate volunteer recruitment, training, and management efforts.
Help organize canvassing, phone banking, voter outreach, and GOTV activities.
Assist with campaign scheduling, logistics, and calendar management.
Support event planning and execution for town halls, meet-and-greets, fundraisers, and community events.
Represent the campaign professionally at public events and community functions.
Fill operational gaps and assist wherever needed in a fast-moving campaign environment.
Assist with donor outreach and fundraising follow-up.
Help coordinate sponsorships and fundraising events.
Track finance activity and maintain donor records.
Assist with preparing finance reports and compliance organization.
Work with campaign leadership on finance call time preparation and donor research.
Maintain familiarity with campaign finance and reporting procedures.
Assist with social media content creation and digital engagement.
Help draft campaign emails, donor outreach, press materials, and community communications.
Monitor local news, community discussions, and public feedback.
Assist with photography, video content, and campaign branding initiatives.
Track organizing and fundraising activities using campaign platforms and databases.
Utilize tools such as NGP, VAN, ActBlue, Google Workspace, and related campaign software.
Assist with voter file management, supporter tracking, and event RSVP systems.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Comfortable interacting with voters, donors, volunteers, and community stakeholders.
Self-starter with a high degree of initiative and professionalism.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Interest in politics, public service, communications, organizing, or local government.
Familiarity with VAN, NGP, ActBlue, or similar campaign platforms is preferred but not required.
Prior experience in campaigns, nonprofits, communications, fundraising, or community organizing is a plus.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.
Part-time flexible schedule.
Evening and weekend availability occasionally required.
Compensation based on experience.
