JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary: The Campaign’s Finance Director will lead and oversee all aspects of the finance campaign, ensuring the successful execution of strategies to achieve victory. The Finance Director is responsible for building and managing the fundraising program, staffing & executing call time, ensuring a strong events program, and working to make sure the campaign hits robust fundraising goals.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Creating and expanding a fundraising universe via candidate rolodexing and donor prospecting

  • Scheduling, managing, and staffing call time.

  • Working with the candidate and campaign manager to set fundraising goals, draft and executive finance plans, and create an events schedule.

  • Staffing the candidate at district & fundraising events

  • Researching potential local, statewide, and national donors

  • Working with vendors to ensure a strong email & digital fundraising program 

  • Collaboration with VA House Democratic Caucus staff to ensure communication of fundraising progress & goals

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Minimum one cycle of experience in political fundraising and campaigns, with a strong track record of success. 

  • Familiarity with NGP-VAN and Excel / Google Sheets. Familiarity with call time & budgeting tools such as Numero, RaiseMore, and Warchest preferred. 

  • Excitement to create and maintain strong relationships with leadership, members, candidates, partners, and staff.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent time management, planning, and organization skills. 

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, and a willingness to hold self and others accountable to goals.

  • Team player with a positive attitude who is able to motivate others. 

  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, including frequent evening and weekend work, and ability to travel statewide. 

  • Commitment to winning and retaining a Democratic majority in the Virginia House of Delegates.

  • Travel in-state, as well as evening and weekend work, will be required.
