JOB DESCRIPTION

Lydia Green for Brooklyn is seeking enthusiastic interns who are looking to gain hands-on experience on a grassroots campaign for New York State Assembly District 52.

Lydia Green is a progressive organizer, Democratic District Leader, and lifelong Brooklynite running to make Brooklyn a place that anyone and everyone can afford to call home. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with senior staff in any and all areas that interest you. Have a particular area of specialization (Field, Comms, etc)? Just let us know!

This position is a part-time, unpaid internship that is based in Brooklyn — but can be conducted either in-person or remotely — and will run through the end of June 2026.

Potential responsibilities include

  • Field: Assisting with Direct Voter Contact and Volunteer Recruitment efforts (directly engaging with voters and recruiting volunteers for the campaign).

  • Comms: Supporting the Communications team by creating content and managing social media accounts to spread the word about our movement and mobilize the community.

  • Policy: Assisting in platform development by conducting research into policy issues.

  • Operations: Helping facilitate in-person and virtual events.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in at least one of the areas highlighted above (Field, Comms, Policy, Operations), though this experience need not be campaign-related.

  • A strong commitment to follow-through and communication with your team members.

  • A willingness to learn — we’d be honored to be your first campaign!

  • A sharp eye for detail and organization.

  • Proficiency in Google Workspace.
