About Earls for Justice
Justice Anita Earls is running for re-election to the North Carolina Supreme Court. A lifelong
civil rights advocate, Justice Earls is committed to a legal system rooted in fairness, dignity, and
equal access to justice. Our campaign is grounded in the power of community, joy, and a shared
belief in democracy that works for all.
We are building a statewide movement to protect judicial independence and ensure that every
North Carolinian has a voice. To lead this effort, we are seeking a strategic, collaborative, and
driven Campaign Manager.
Position Summary
The Campaign Manager will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive,
multi-million dollar campaign strategy to re-elect Justice Anita Earls to the North Carolina
Supreme Court. This person will oversee day-to-day campaign operations, manage staff and
consultants, coordinate fundraising and communications efforts, and ensure the campaign stays
on track to meet all critical milestones leading to the November 2026 general election.
This is a senior leadership role that requires political acumen, excellent organizational skills, and
a deep commitment to racial and social justice.
Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the overall campaign plan through
Election Day, including fundraising, communications, media outreach, field, and digital
strategies.

Team Management: Hire, supervise, and support campaign staff and consultants,
fostering a collaborative and accountable team culture.
●
Fundraising Oversight: Partner with the candidate, Finance Director, and compliance
team to raise the funds necessary to win, including managing events, and initiating donor
outreach, both in-state and national.

Communications Coordination: Support messaging development and coordinate
internal and external communications, including press, digital content, and surrogate
amplification.
●
Field and Coalition Building: Guide a statewide field program in coordination with the
NCDP focused on volunteer recruitment, community engagement, and coalition
partnerships.

Budget and Compliance: Manage the campaign budget in collaboration with the
Treasurer and ensure legal and ethical compliance in all campaign activities.
●
Principal Management: Work closely with Justice Earls to manage her schedule,
prepare for events, and ensure alignment across all aspects of the campaign.
●
Partnership and Coalition Building: Work in tandem with the Joint Judicial Caucus,
Court of Appeals candidates, county parties, PACs, and other trusted state and national
progressive partners to raise money and amplify the campaign’s message.
Ideal Candidate Will Have
●
At least 3–5 years of political campaign experience, with at least one cycle in a
senior-level role (Campaign Manager, Political Director, etc.)
●
Experience managing teams and coordinating across departments (field, comms, digital,
finance)
●
Proven ability to build and execute fundraising strategies (preference to national
fundraising)
●
Strong understanding of North Carolina’s political landscape or demonstrated ability to
learn it quickly
●
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
●
Deep commitment to racial justice, equity, and inclusive leadership
●
Calm under pressure, highly organized, and able to manage competing priorities
●
Excellent time management skills and willingness to work long, flexible hours in a
fast-paced environment
