JOB DESCRIPTION

Campaign Manager, Aida Ashouri for Los Angeles City Attorney

About the Race

The LA City Attorney race is important for many reasons: the upcoming Olympics, the increased militarization of our city, and the housing crisis. The current incumbent has served a single term in which she has prosecuted pro-Palestine protesters, dismantled community programs, impeded housing projects and programs, and harassed staff. Running to unseat her is a former Deputy City Attorney, tenants rights and human rights attorney, who is also a first-generation Iranian-American, raised by a single mom in the San Fernando Valley and Whittier.  Aida is running because she believes in progressive criminal justice reform, holding bad landlords accountable, protecting the right to protest, and prioritizing services over handcuffs. Aida is a graduate of the UC Berkeley School of Law, a former Los Feliz Neighborhood Council board member, and a longtime anti-war, environmental justice, and mobility justice activist and organizer. As a cyclist she also wants to address the rising problem of traffic violence in Los Angeles, and hold polluters accountable. Aida is committed to equity, inclusion, and community representation.
