Are you a confident, organized, and reliable campaign manager with savvy field experience and a proven track record? Put your skills to good use as a  **Campaign Manager **for a leading bay area campaign.

 

This position is a  full-time and based in Oakland, CA.

 

**JOB FUNCTION: **This position provides overall campaign leadership, focus, management, front-line direction and organizational support to a fast-paced, disciplined campaign. The position reports jointly to the organization and to the campaign consultant team.

The campaign you'll be managing is for the BAHFA bond, a ballot measure in the Bay Area's nine-county region. The bond aims to raise funds for two main goals: increasing affordable housing by developing and maintaining units across the Bay Area to address the housing crisis, and investing in community infrastructure projects to enhance the overall quality of life in the region.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS

  • CAMPAIGN ORGANIZATION. The Campaign Manager will function as the principal campaign employee, reporting to the leadership team and Consultants. This individual is tasked with overseeing all aspects to ensure a successful campaign. Given the multitude of details involved in maintaining a smoothly running campaign, tasks and assignments will vary widely. These include fundraising, hiring, management and volunteer recruitment, administrative and logistical tasks, and more.

  • **FUNDRAISING SUPPORT. **The Campaign Manager will collaborate with the Consultants and leadership team as needed to contribute to the success of events and other fundraising efforts.

  • **ENDORSEMENTS & TRACKING. **The Campaign Manager will work alongside the Candidate and leadership team to effectively build, manage, track, and promote individual and community endorsements on behalf of the campaign. Furthermore, the Campaign Manager will schedule and oversee endorsement call times regularly with county leads and the campaign leadership team.

  • E-COMMUNICATIONS. The Campaign Manager will execute this task themselves or hire and manage additional staff with strategic guidance from the leadership team and Consultants. The objective is to draft and send well thought-out, interactive, and engaging emails and social media posts to supporters, prospects, press, and social media. The messages should be organic, carefully crafted, and executed, through the campaign's website, database, social channels, and other platforms as needed.

  • TRACKING AND REPORTING. The Campaign Manager will actively manage the campaign's tracking and reporting systems, maintaining accurate and timely measurement and reporting of results and updates to campaign leaders throughout the campaign. This will include a weekly dashboard.

  • CREATING AND MAINTAINING A WINNING CAMPAIGN ENVIRONMENT. The Campaign Manager will prioritize the success of the campaign, creating a positive, upbeat, and focused environment. They will actively strive to be a role model for others to follow, demonstrating strong communication skills, respect and integrity at all times.

  • PAID STAFF and VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT, TRAINING & MANAGEMENT. The Campaign Manager will contribute to the successful recruitment of paid staff and volunteers for voter contact and other outreach purposes. This will be done in alignment with the Consultants, leadership team, and the agreed-upon campaign strategy at both regional and county levels. The Campaign Manager will be responsible for managing both paid staff and volunteers.

  • VOTER CONTACT COORDINATION. The Campaign Manager will support a predetermined system for effective voter contact. They will supervise and/or hire supervisors to monitor phone banks, field operations, texting, and other direct voter contact efforts on behalf of the campaign.

  • OTHER REQUIREMENTS. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, email management, Google Suite, Nationbuilder, and other web-based software, as well as preferably skilled in PDI and other campaign tools (texting, phoning, etc.). The role involves local and regional travel for work-related duties, requiring a valid driver’s license and a functional personal vehicle. The Campaign Manager should demonstrate the ability to consistently and clearly communicate by regularly checking in with campaign leadership.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated experience/success in community organizing, politics or equivalent field – especially for candidate campaigns.

  • Believes in and is committed to the cause!

  • Superior interpersonal, oral and written communications, and people skills.

  • Sound judgment and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Experience working with and managing volunteers.

  • Demonstrated experience working in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.

  • Dependable and flexible. Upbeat, can-do attitude.

  • Access to a car in satisfactory working condition and a valid CA driver’s license is essential.

 

Salary: Commensurate with experience.
