JOB DESCRIPTION

Heidi for Indiana

Campaign Manager

The Heidi for Indiana (H5) campaign is seeking an experienced Campaign Manager for  a highly competitive seat. Democrats need just four house seats to break the GOP  supermajority and HD5 is one of those seats. Mike Schmuhl, Indiana’s State  Democratic Party Chair, has said*:

“I firmly believe that leaders like Heidi are the future of Indiana. Her race is one of a handful that can be flipped from Republican to Democrat this fall  because so many residents are fed up with politics as usual.  One party control has done a lot of damage to our state over the last few years, and we  need fresh faces and ideas to solve our state’s biggest problems.”

Heidi launched her campaign with a Campaign Kick-Off event on March 19 with over  175 supporters in attendance. The enthusiasm and energy have been amazing; folks  are reaching out and stepping up to volunteer. Our campaign has a senior leadership  team with expertise in communications; relational organizing and training; and field and

data. The campaign has a core leadership team with 12 super volunteers who have  agreed to lead in various ways including: (a) regional field captains, (b) volunteer organizing, (c) call time, (d) meet and greets, and (e) union liaison.

The vision for Heidi for Indiana is for families to have the freedom to be educated,  healthy and prosperous. During the past 20 years, extreme republicans have legislated  Indiana into the bottom of nearly every metric including: health, education, teacher pay,  air and water quality and quality of life. It doesn’t have to be this way.

Heidi Beidinger has dedicated her entire career to improving education and health in the  community. She was a co-architect of the Academies at Penn High School for the Penn  Harris Madison school district, co-founded the Lead Affinity Group, and is a professor  and researcher at the University of Notre Dame. Through these roles, she has  collaborated with local schools, advocated for children's safety from lead poisoning, and  worked to increase access to affordable healthcare in the area. Additionally, she

previously served as the President of the St. Joseph County Board of Health, appointed  in 2016 by Mayor Pete Buttigieg.
