Develop and manage the campaign’s field plan, including canvassing, phone banking, voter-contact goals, and volunteer recruitment.
Recruit, train, schedule, and manage volunteers and neighborhood leaders.
Organize house parties, meet-and-greets, fundraisers, and community events.
Track voter-contact, volunteer, and event data and report progress toward campaign goals.
Manage the candidate’s campaign calendar, invitations, deadlines, and event logistics.
Accompany the candidate to campaign events, community meetings, and endorsement interviews.
Prepare event briefs, schedules, talking points, canvass materials, and volunteer communications.
Track endorsement opportunities and work with the candidate on questionnaires, policy research, and interview preparation.
Coordinate with campaign staff, consultants, vendors, supporters, and endorsing organizations.
Provide strategic advice and help ensure consistent campaign messaging and follow-through.
Experience in political campaigns, community organizing, labor, advocacy, or a related field.
Strong organizational, communication, and project-management skills.
Experience recruiting and managing volunteers.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and exercise sound political judgment.
Strong writing and policy research skills.
Familiarity with Oakland communities and politics preferred.
Experience with PDI, VAN, or similar campaign tools preferred.
Availability for regular evening and weekend work.
