A high-level progressive congressional campaign is seeking a strategic, driven, and well-rounded Campaign Manager to lead a competitive open-seat primary. This race will require a sophisticated, disciplined, and fully integrated campaign operation. The Campaign Manager will oversee all aspects of the campaign and serve as the senior strategist and day-to-day leader. They will be responsible for developing and executing the overall campaign plan; managing staff and consultants; and coordinating finance, communications, and field operations to ensure the campaign meets its political, financial, and organizational goals. This role requires strong leadership, sharp political judgment, and the ability to build and manage a high-performing team in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
Key Responsibilities
Campaign Strategy & Leadership
Develop and implement a comprehensive campaign plan, including field, communications, digital, and finance strategies
Set and manage benchmarks, timelines, and goals to ensure the campaign stays on track
Advise the candidate on political strategy, messaging, and day-to-day decision-making
Staff & Operations Management
Recruit, hire, train, and supervise campaign staff and consultants
Foster a strong, collaborative, and accountable team culture
Manage campaign operations, including office logistics, compliance, and vendor relationships
Fundraising & Finance
Work with finance staff/consultants to develop and execute a fundraising plan
Oversee call time, donor outreach, and fundraising events
Track progress toward fundraising goals and adjust strategy as needed
Create and manage a budget
Field & Voter Contact
Oversee field program, including voter targeting, canvassing, phone banking, and GOTV efforts
Monitor voter contact metrics and adjust tactics to meet persuasion and turnout goals
Communications & Media
Guide campaign messaging and branding across all platforms
Oversee press strategy, earned media, and digital communications
Work with consultants to prepare the candidate for debates, interviews, and public appearances
Qualifications & Requirements
2+ years of campaign or political experience, including at least one cycle in a senior leadership role
Demonstrated success managing staff, budgets, and complex political operations
Strong understanding of fundraising, field organizing, and communications strategy
Experience with voter file systems (e.g., VAN), fundraising/call time platforms, and budget/finance plans
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work long hours, including nights and weekends, in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Preferred:
Experience on a congressional or managing a state house/senate campaign
Experience managing million-dollar budgets
Experience managing a principal
