JOB DESCRIPTION

What Will You Do?

Campus Organizers will work on key campuses across Michigan that engage and mobilize students for the 2025 elections and beyond. The role will start May 1, 2025, and run through the November election. This position is based at a handful of the Michigan universities and requires a significant amount of in-person work.

This isn’t your typical organizing job. You’ll need to be creative, relentless, and ready to hustle—building something from the ground up that empowers young people to take charge, not just in this election, but for years to come.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop a civic engagement plan for your campus, tailored to the 2025 elections and broader community involvement.

  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of paid student fellows and volunteers who will mobilize their peers and build long-term organizing power.

  • Foster relationships with administrators, student leaders, student organizations, and local community groups to strengthen democratic participation.

  • Break down barriers that discourage students from civic engagement and ensure that every student can participate in the electoral process.

  • Conduct direct voter contact through door-knocking/dorm-storming, high traffic canvassing, relational organizing, and more.

  • Shape the overall culture on your campus for the 2025 election and beyond.

  • All other duties as assigned.

What Are The Physical Requirements?

For Michigan is an inclusive organization committed to supporting employees of varying abilities and providing reasonable accommodations. The physical demands of this job include:

  • Spending extended periods of time outdoors, engaging students in a variety of weather conditions.

  • Remaining in a stationary position while driving or riding in a vehicle for travel purposes.
