JOB DESCRIPTION

_Jewish Democratic Council of America Campus Organizing Fellow _

The Jewish Democratic Council of America (JDCA) is recruiting high school students, college students and young professionals for an educational fellowship program supporting our 2024 efforts to reelect President Biden and other Democrats who share our values. JDCA’s Organizing Fellowship will begin in July and last until early to mid December.

Fellows will gain hands-on experience within the Outreach Department’s organizing efforts – with an emphasis on mobilizing and engaging younger voters – while developing skills and knowledge in direct voter contact, digital organizing, relational organizing, data management, and volunteer recruitment and management. Fellows on college campuses will work in partnership with JDCA staff to recruit and engage other student volunteers in turning out the vote.

Fellows will be trained and supervised by JDCA’s Youth Voter Engagement Manager and JDCA’s Director of Outreach and Partnerships.

Objectives & Responsibilities:

Organizing: Fellows will be trained with the necessary skills to organize voters and volunteers in a specific state or group of states. They will support JDCA’s staff and state chapters in their efforts to strengthen volunteer engagement and increase voter contact rates in their state with an emphasis on younger voters. Fellows will also recruit students on their assigned campuses and in their local communities to participate in JDCA’s voter mobilization efforts such as canvassing, phone banks, text banks, in-person and virtual events, and other JDCA volunteer opportunities. Fellows in select states will also have the opportunity to work in conjunction with our coalition partners at America Votes, participating in statewide organizing efforts to amplify our work.

Leadership Development: The objective of the fellowship program is to equip the next generation of Jewish leaders with the necessary skills to advocate for our Jewish, pro-Israel, and Democratic values. JDCA will provide leadership and development training, staff support, educational and networking opportunities, access to organizing tools and technology, and other resources to support fellows in advancing JDCA’s mission and their careers.
