Campus Organizing Intern

Position: Campus Organizing Intern-Wisconsin

Organization: DJs at the Polls

Location:** Wisconsin (Must be a student on campus)**

Pay Rate: $17/hour

Hours: Minimum 8 hours per week, up to 20 hours per week if desired

Start Date: Mid-February 2025

End Date: Mid-April 2025

About DJs at the Polls

DJs at the Polls is a 501(c)(3) nonpartisan nonprofit organization that places DJs at polling locations across target states on Election Day to create a celebratory and welcoming voting environment. Our mission is to increase voter engagement and make the democratic process accessible and enjoyable for all.

 

Position Overview

We are seeking an ** Organizing Intern** to help build our presence on a Wisconsin college campus and ensure a successful Election Day program on April 1st. The ideal candidate is passionate about civic engagement, experienced in student organizing, and comfortable working with campus administrators, student organizations, and DJs to promote our mission.

Responsibilities

  • Promote ** DJs at the Polls** on campus and recruit students to get involved

  • Partner with ** campus DJs** to organize performances for Election Day

  • Work with campus administration to ** gain approval** for DJs to play at polling locations

  • Assist in planning and executing ** pre-election events** that promote voter turnout

  • Explore the possibility of starting a ** DJs at the Polls club** on campus or collaborating with existing student organizations

  • Provide on-the-ground support leading up to and on Election Day

Qualifications

  • Must be a ** student at a college or university in Wisconsin**

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Ability to commit to ** at least 8 hours per week**, with flexibility to work up to 20 hours per week

  • Availability ** all day on April 1st (Election Day)** and increased availability in the days leading up to Election Day (we can provide a work excuse for class or activities if needed)

  • Experience in student organizing, event planning, or campus leadership preferred

  • Enthusiasm for civic engagement and creativity in promoting our mission ** required**

  • Understanding of the local DJ community ** preferred**
