The New Hampshire House Democratic Victory Campaign Committee is a full-time political organization dedicated to building a Democratic majority in the New Hampshire House of Representatives. We are looking for an experienced, full-time Candidate Services Director to manage our candidate recruitment and training program to regain the Democratic House majority. The Candidate Services Director will work closely with senior staff, the legislative leadership team, and individual members. The position will last until December 15, 2024.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Working closely with caucus leadership, DVCC staff, and political leaders across the state.
Identifying and recruiting House candidates for the 2024 cycle.
Assist with training candidates.
Hiring and managing a team of three to four staff, Regional Campaign Managers.
Assisting regional campaign managers to build campaign infrastructure for targeted House candidates.
Developing strong relationships with grassroots organizations across the state, including the NH Coordinated Campaign.
Required skills and qualifications:
Strong commitment to electing Democrats to state government.
Minimum two (2) cycles of campaign experience.
Lives in or willing to relocate to the Greater Manchester area for the duration of the campaign cycle. Office is in Concord.
Must have access to a reliable vehicle. This position will require occasional travel around the state.
Possess superior interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people and organizations.
Fast learner and willing to go above and beyond and find creative solutions to problems.
Exemplary time management, planning, and organizational skills.
Detail-oriented and able to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Able to work independently and in a team environment.
Work extended hours, including nights and weekends as needed.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
Appreciation for hyper-local politics.
Some understanding of New Hampshire political scene.
Has worked for a legislative program, preferably a state caucus or a state legislative campaign.
Strong preference to have experience managing a paid communications program, specifically mail and digital.
Strong preference to have experience managing paid communications vendors.
Strong preference to have experience managing a paid communications budget of more than $100,000.
Background in field and Votebuilder.
MiniVan training and management experience.
