Job Title: Clean Energy Organizer, Pennsylvania

Salary Range: $60,000 - $85,000
Location: Remote in Pennsylvania
Greenlight America engages and mobilizes local residents in support of clean energy projects. We aspire to be the leading grassroots campaign force powering the clean energy transition in terms of steel in the ground, with the result that more clean power projects win local siting and permitting approval more quickly, contributing to an overall environment where the U.S. exceeds our clean energy generation and transmission goals for the next decade.
Position Overview:
The Clean Energy Organizer, Pennsylvania will support Greenlight America’s campaigns for clean energy in Pennsylvania, including utility-scale solar siting. They will engage local communities, mobilize volunteers, and work with partner organizations to build grassroots support for clean energy projects. A successful candidate for this position will have a background in community organizing, excellent communication skills, and a passion for clean energy. They should be eager to learn and approach challenges with flexibility and creativity. The position is remote and reports to the Senior Regional Campaign Manager, Northeast.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities:
Engage local communities to support campaigns for clean energy projects in Pennsylvania.
Mobilize volunteers and collaborate with local partner organizations to build grassroots support for clean energy projects.
Assist in developing and implementing campaign plans, including setting goals, strategies, and tactical timelines.
Use quantitative and qualitative data to track progress towards organizing goals. Support the coalition in refining the strategy and tactics on the ground based on this data.
Track campaign milestones and identify opportunities for community engagement.
Provide support to volunteer leaders through regular check-ins, training sessions, and advocacy materials.
Build and maintain relationships with partner organizations, including environmental, labor, faith, social justice, and business groups.
Host community events, town halls, and workshops to educate the public about clean energy initiatives and encourage community participation.
Organize and participate in outreach activities such as door-to-door canvassing, phone banking, and tabling at local events to build awareness and support for clean energy projects.
Create and manage local volunteer groups, including recruitment, training, and retention strategies to ensure a strong and active volunteer base for campaign activities.
Travel frequently to rural areas around Pennsylvania is expected.

Experience and Qualifications:
We are looking for candidates who have the following qualifications:
1+ years of relevant experience. Strong candidates may have a background in grassroots organizing, community engagement, issue advocacy, or similar. Experience organizing at the local level in Pennsylvania is a significant plus.
Proven ability to mobilize and engage volunteers. Experience in recruiting, training, and managing volunteers, including developing retention strategies.
Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
Experience in planning and coordinating community events or workshops.
Background in conducting outreach efforts such as canvassing and phone banking.
Experience working in coalition with partner organizations. Willingness to build alliances across the political spectrum.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Familiarity with digital campaigning tools and tactics.
Willingness to think creatively, take risks, objectively evaluate results, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Passion for accelerating the clean energy transition.
Must have access to reliable transportation.
Compensation and Benefits:
The base annual salary range for this position is $60,000 - $85,000, depending on experience.
