JOB DESCRIPTION

Dayenu: A Jewish Call to Climate Action is hiring a Climate Campaign Manager to lead impactful climate advocacy campaigns and help build a spiritually rooted Jewish climate movement.

The Climate Campaign Manager will work closely with Dayenu’s Director of Campaigns and Partnership to lead successful climate issue campaigns using a variety of strategies, including federal, state, and local policy advocacy; deep coalition, partnership, and ally engagement; traditional and digital media outreach; voter education and turnout; and grassroots mobilization of Dayenu’s multi-generational, multi-racial, multi-ethnic people-powered movement of American Jews.

**Reporting Structure: **The position reports to the Director of Campaigns and Partnership.

Anticipated Start Date: July 8, 2024

Responsibilities:

Campaign Management and Design (50%)

  • Manage Dayenu campaigns, responsible for shaping day-to-day workflow and delivering on overall campaign objectives

  • Lead and coordinate project teams made up of staff from Dayenu’s campaigns, organizing, communications, and spiritual adaptation departments to ensure that work is aligned and advances shared objectives

  • Track and assess campaign opportunities and support development of new campaigns and initiatives that advance Dayenu’s mission

  • Develop and implement management systems to ensure that all campaign activity remains on track

  • Conduct research, produce written material, and develop other campaign content, including education materials and campaign communications, as needed.

  • Track the impact and results of your work, and make adjustments to meet shared goals.

Engagement with External Partners and Grassroots Leaders (50%)

  • Engage key allies, partners, and other external stakeholders within Jewish, multi-faith, and secular organizations and movements, including frontline communities and activists in the climate justice and broader progressive movements

  • Represent Dayenu in coalition to explore collaboration and coordinate advocacy initiatives and campaign activities

  • Present, speak, and share Dayenu’s vision and work to a variety of audiences

  • Provide education and coaching to Dayenu Circles (chapters) and other Dayenu grassroots leaders around climate policy and action

Qualifications:

  • At least five years of experience running or managing issue campaigns

  • Thorough knowledge of climate policy solutions, and understanding of climate and environmental organizational ecosystem

  • Proven track record of delivering successful advocacy initiatives, bringing together several strategies (grassroots organizing, traditional and digital outreach, engaging policymakers, in-person mobilization tactics, etc.)

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, complete detail oriented projects, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines 

  • Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills 

  • Excellent people skills and experience working with a wide range of stakeholders

  • Quick, creative, entrepreneurial, and flexible, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and opportunities

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to delivering strategic and high quality work with integrity and good judgment 

  • Ability to collaborate across lines of difference, and a commitment to anti-racist and feminist practice

  • Passionate about Dayenu’s mission and committed to growing a Jewish climate movement 

  • Electoral and GOTV experience a plus

  • Knowledge of and experience working in / with the Jewish community a plus

  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends; some domestic travel required
