Incubated at Movement Labs, a leading digital and technology consultancy, Contest Every Race works heavily with state Democratic parties and progressive allies to recruit down-ballot candidates and support local volunteer groups and candidate campaigns. In 2024 we’re laser-focused on defeating Trump.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Partnerships & Support, the Coaching and Systems Associate is a key position that unlocks our ability to support thousands of campaigns and groups nationwide in a way that’s relevant to and meets the needs of each specific campaign.
Responsibilities
Coaching
Coordinate the Contest Every Race Coaching program. Schedule coaching shifts to fulfill capacity needs and ensure coaches have the resources and support they need to succeed.
Oversee coaches’ work product, follow up on missing deliverables, track performance, and calculate monthly earnings.
Systems
Pull down, match, organize and display data as needed.
Use automations and formulas to connect, compile and display data in the most accessible and efficient ways possible.
Collaborate with the data/tech team around system build out needs and usage, which may involve utilizing or picking up introductory Airtable, SQL, and/or Google BigQuery skillsets.

Working with thousands of local campaigners at once requires beautifully scalable systems - complicated and simple at the same time. The ideal candidate is a systems nerd, happiest when plugging everything together to make it work seamlessly and efficiently. Our fully remote team of high performers is kind and compassionate, passionate about supporting Democrats and progressives in every single corner of the country, and clear-eyed about the long-term goal of knocking down the structures of systemic oppression that drive who runs for office, and who gets support.
At the minimum, a proclivity and eagerness to learn introductory data management skillsets.
Experience with local campaigns

Goal-oriented and independently motivated. Ready to drive forward your portfolio, communicating about obstacles, pursuing next steps, and delivering results.
Creative and systems thinker, continually looking for bugs, fixes, shortcuts and upgrades in systems to help the team eliminate busy work and optimize performance.
Detail-oriented and meticulous, with a willingness to, with guidance, set goals well short of perfect to achieve maximum impact.
Moderate to advanced use of formulas in Excel/Google Sheets/Airtable and familiarity with BigQuery and Airtable.
A commitment to small-d democracy and dismantling the systems of oppression built into the foundations of this country.

$50,000-$75,000/year in a transparent salary structure with clear levels of advancement, and automatic membership in the collective bargaining unit.
