JOB DESCRIPTION

About Us

Arc Initiatives is a full-service political, digital, and public affairs consulting firm. Our team of experienced professionals has waged and won dozens of high-profile, high-stakes campaigns for candidates, coalitions, and causes – and we do the same thing for our clients. We work with political campaigns, coalitions, issue advocacy organizations, and activists to drive progressive change and elect Democrats across the country. We are good people doing good things and looking for a stellar individual to join our team.

The Opportunity

We’re seeking a talented and motivated individual with a sharp political mind and an interest in media to add capacity to our political team. The ideal candidate will have experience in and be interested in developing their skills, working with press, drafting press materials, and working with or alongside statewide or regional electoral campaigns, grassroots organizations, or advocacy coalitions.

How You’ll Make an Impact

You will be an integral, full-time staffer on Arc’s political communications team, helping to drive electoral and advocacy campaigns.

You will draft press materials and content to amplify client messaging across media channels, such as media advisories, press releases, op-eds, social media guidance, and talking points.

You will cultivate relationships with reporters through pitching, one-on-ones, and events.

You will track the media narrative on progressive issues and candidates and develop media analysis and additional media research products.

You will support virtual and in-person media events

You will support client relationship management, including scheduling and workflow management

You have 1-3 years of experience.

Salary Range: $50,000 - $65,000

What Makes You a Great Fit

You have 1-3 years of experience working on electoral campaigns or at a party committee for elected federal or state government officials, on Capitol Hill, at an advocacy, non-profit, or similar organization focusing on digital and earned media.

You are passionate about progressive causes, including climate, health care, democracy, and reproductive rights.

Experience working with BIPOC and frontline communities is a bonus.

You want a fast-paced environment where you’ll continually be challenged and grow your skill sets, while working on top voter issues during election season.

You have exceptional writing skills and can produce materials with little oversight or editing needed.

You have experience managing multiple projects on short timelines.

You are a strong interpersonal communicator.

You’re passionate about progressive causes, particularly political campaigns.

You are kind, friendly, and have a good sense of humor.

Please keep in mind: Research has shown that candidates from underrepresented backgrounds only apply to jobs when they meet 100% of the requirements vs. their majority counterparts, which apply at a much higher rate if they meet 50-60% of the requirements. Therefore, if you are interested in the role, we would love to hear how you can leverage your talents to be an excellent addition to the Arc Initiatives team.
