The Communications Director plays a key role in developing and executing the impactful programming of Amplify NH. Successful execution of this position’s responsibilities will increase the effectiveness of Amplify NH, expand our network of partners, and through effective communications and education, will elevate Granite Staters’ understanding of the issues that matter most to New Hampshire.
The Communications Director reports to the Executive Director.
Responsibilities:
Developing and implementing aggressive communications strategy and ensuring message continuity across all communications platforms
Drafting and developing press releases and media outreach materials
Facilitating press conferences and other earned media events
Developing and cultivating relationships with local media
Preparing talking points and developing rapid responses via multiple platforms
Proactively engage with partner organizations to assist with drafting communications materials and executing shared communications programs
Work collaboratively with partner organizations on development and distribution of coordinated messaging
Integrating messaging into a robust social media program
Providing communications trainings and acting as a resource to partner organizations
Qualifications and Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of prior communications experience with either issue advocacy, campaign, or progressive table organizations, 4 years preferred
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Strong writing, research, and editing skills
Excellent personal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships
Responsive and positive team player who enjoys new challenges
Proven experience managing multiple complex projects and finishing tasks ahead of aggressive deadlines
Record of success working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
NH experience and knowledge of NH state legislative process preferred
Logistics:
This is a New Hampshire-based, remote position
Applicants must be willing to either reside in or commute on a regular basis to NH for in-person meetings and events
Applicants must provide their own transportation
