JOB DESCRIPTION

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with candidate, consultants, and stakeholders to develop and disseminate campaign message

• Manage social media calendar and monitor engagement

• Work with the finance team to create engaging and effective fundraising content

• Lead the campaign’s rapid response operation, including writing and sending press releases, op-eds, talking points, and responding to breaking news in real-time. 

• Work closely with the campaign consultants to comprehend and turn research findings into press pitches, releases, social media content, earned media, ad backup documents, etc. 

• Prepare and provide talking points, background materials, and other relevant written materials for relevant campaign staff, volunteers, and partners

• Serve as the on-the-record spokesperson for the campaign, while developing and maintaining relationships with key in-state and national press

• Excellent communication and writing skills

• Willingness to take initiative and find creative solutions

• Experience with political campaigns and/or related office experience

• Proficiency in common computer programs like Excel, Word and Google Docs

 

EXCEPTIONALLY QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL HAVE

• Previous on-the-record experience with a campaign or committee

• Working knowledge of Wisconsin press corps

• A valid driver’s license and access to reliable, insured transportation
