Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Direct and provide comprehensive communications services for the Caucus and campaigns, especially with regard to internal and external message guidance and earned media.
Act as spokesperson for the caucus when needed and in conjunction with the Caucus chair and legislative leaders.
Create and implement broad communications and messaging strategy for the Caucus.
Supervise, engage, and develop staff and interns as needed.
Cultivate relationships with state reporters and other members of the media to speak on background and effectively shape stories and media narratives, as well as on the record as needed.
Oversee development of press materials, statements, talking points, and speeches.
Contribute to the planning of media events for the Caucus, legislative leaders, and other officials and candidates.
Required skills and qualifications:
Strong commitment to electing Democrats to state government.
Minimum one (1) cycle of experience in media relations and communications; experience on a statewide, congressional, or legislative committee campaign preferred.
On the record experience preferred, but not required.
Demonstrated ability to manage team towards position goals and within deadlines; Firm grasp of today’s traditional and social media environments;
Attention to detail and accuracy to build and execute a media plan for the cycle with the goal of increasing the caucus program’s brand and efficacy, but also supporting key races across the state generate earned media from local outlets.
Superior interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people and organizations.
Ability to learn and adapt quickly.
Exemplary time management, planning, and organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Lives in or willing to relocate to New Hampshire for the duration of the campaign cycle.
Work extended hours, including nights and weekends as needed.
Possess a car in working order for occasional travel around the state.
Possess a cell phone and laptop.
Experience in New Hampshire preferred, but not required.
