The National Democratic Training Committee (NDTC) is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced political campaign veteran to join our team as our Community Engagement Manager. This role is crucial in building deeper relationships with candidates, campaign staff, and others who engage with NDTC trainings. The ideal candidate will be an outgoing, friendly campaign expert with a passion for helping Democratic candidates succeed. You will work closely with our marketing, live training, and political teams and report directly to the Director of Marketing.
This is a full-time, temporary position through December 2024 with the potential for permanent hire in the new year.
Primary Responsibilities
Engagement Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive learner engagement plans using social media, text messaging, email, and phone, as well as develop and implement a tracking system for the program.
Support Learners: Provide support to learners across all modes of NDTC, including online courses, live training, and other resources.
Community Leadership: Serve as the moderator and leader of the NDTC Candidate Facebook community, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for all members.
Lead Staff VLT Programming: Serve as host for our Virtual Live Training (VLT) programs, ensuring they are engaging, informative, and meet the needs of our community in the moment and in follow-up.
Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing, live training, and political teams to ensure a cohesive approach to community development and engagement.
Data-Driven Insights: Utilize data to assess the effectiveness of engagement strategies and make adjustments as needed to maximize impact.

Campaign Experience: Minimum of 2 campaign cycles experience, with a proven track record in community engagement, organizing, or related roles. Experience in multiple campaign roles (management, digital, fundraising, field, etc) is highly preferred.
Passion for Democratic Values: Strong commitment to Democratic values and a deep understanding of the political landscape.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences.
Outgoing Personality: Friendly, approachable, and able to build relationships easily.
Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Tech Savvy: Comfortable with using digital tools and platforms for community engagement, including social media, email marketing, and CRM systems.
Leadership: Proven leadership skills, with experience in moderating and managing online communities.
This is a remote position open to candidates located in the United States. NDTC is a fully remote workplace. We have staff all across the country, with large groups centralized in Chicago and Washington, D.C.
NDTC requires all staff to be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Travel and Availability Requirements
This role requires staffing training events for NDTC, both virtually and in-person, which may include some evening or weekend commitments. NDTC provides reasonable notice for scheduling, PTO, and flexible working arrangements when evening or weekend events occur.
Candidates must be willing to fly and live near (or be willing to relocate to) a major metropolitan area with reasonable access to a major airport. NDTC does not provide relocation funding in these circumstances. Examples of reasonable access to a major airport include being located in or near cities such as Chicago, St. Louis, Philadelphia, San Diego etc. that have airports that are easily traveled to for frequent air travel.
Ability to travel, on average, approximately 10 - 20% of time to event sites across the U.S. This historically has included Alaska and Hawaii and could grow to include US territories. International travel is not anticipated.
Weekend travel with overnight stays required. The usual pattern of travel will include flying to a location on a Friday, staffing an all day event on Saturday or Sunday, and traveling home the evening after the training or the next day based on available travel logistics.
Ability to travel to event sites across the U.S. via plane as primary travel method. Occasionally driving, train, or bus travel may be available for travel to off site locations as determined based on project location.

Compensation + Benefits:
Pay: Salary is commensurate with experience, with a range of $70,000 - $80,000 for the duration of this position
