The Michigan Democratic Party is seeking an experienced Community Organizing Director to lead a diverse and robust team of managers and organizers in Michigan in 2024. We are looking for passionate, hardworking individuals who are committed to building the grassroots turnout operation needed to re-election President Biden and win elections up and down the ballot for Democrats in November 2024.
This position will report to the General Election Director and is based in Detroit, Michigan.
Responsibilities
● Manage, hire, train, and hold accountable Deputy Organizing Directors, Regional Organizing Directors and Field Organizers to meet and exceed voter contact and capacity building goals.
● Build and implement systems and structures to lead a statewide organization to successfully meet daily and weekly goals.
● Oversee and ensure timely and accurate reporting and data management. ● Willingness to manage a diverse team with different experiences and perspectives, and a commitment to helping staff grow and succeed.
● Keep your team focused and motivated in a high-stress, rigorous work schedule and environment.
● Other responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
● Previously held Organizing Director or Deputy Organizing Director role with 3 campaign cycles of field experience or equivalent.
● Experience hiring, managing, and training a sizable team.
● Experience working in large, metric driven voter contact programs.
● Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively and clearly communicate with different types of stakeholders, from high level elected officials to grassroots activists. ● Must have access to a cell phone, vehicle and ability to relocate if necessary.
This position offers a starting salary of $7500 - $8500 per month and includes a full benefits package with health, vision and dental insurance.
