Job Description: Curtis Hertel’s Campaign for Congress in Michigan’s 7th District is seeking a full-time Community Organizing Manager to begin ASAP. We are looking for someone with previous community/field organizing experience who is hard-working and passionate about electing. This role will report to the Campaign Manager.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a robust, community-based and data-driven field plan specific to MI-07, including voter persuasion, student voter outreach and constituency-based organizing programs.
Build relationships with local community groups and leaders, unions and other campaign partners; work to deploy their resources effectively.
Train and manage a team of Organizers to execute on community organizing, event planning, volunteer recruitment and direct voter contact programs.
Collaborate closely with Michigan’s coordinated campaign on all voter outreach in MI-07.
Build and implement a community event calendar for the candidate and campaign, including both existing community events and campaign-led events.
Manage campaign VAN account and maintain data integrity. Report and track key metrics for the field program.
Job Requirements:
Strong organizational, communication and writing skills.
1-3 cycles of campaign organizing/field experience preferred but not required.
Proficiency in VAN, including the basics of training and data management.
Knowledge of and/or ability to learn and work with various digital organizing tools.
Located in/near Lansing or willing to relocate to the district for in-person work.
Licensed driver with access to a personal vehicle (mileage reimbursements included).
A strong passion to elect Democrats, keep the MI-07th blue, and flip the House!
Salary is $5,000 to $6,000 per month, commensurate with experience. Stipends for healthcare and technology costs are also provided, as well as mileage reimbursement.
