A competitive House race in California among the top targets for Democrats to flip in 2026 is seeking a Finance Assistant. The race has been named one of the top House races that will determine the Democrats taking back the House, making it one of the very few pick-up opportunities for Democrats in the country, across both the Senate and House.
The Finance Assistant for our race will be a key part of the campaign, and will work closely with the finance consultants and the Campaign Manager and Candidate to develop and implement a strong fundraising strategy and finance plan that includes a high-yielding candidate call-time program and local and national fundraiser events.
Those with field experience are strongly encouraged to apply. Strong organizational and time management skills required, as is the ability to complete assigned tasks and take initiative. Finance experience not required.
Duties:
Coordinate with finance consultants to conduct donor research;
Help plan and organize in-state fundraising events and coordinate with hosts;
Track pledges from donors;
Staff the candidate at events as needed;
Assist with call time: staff the candidate, process contributions, log calls, complete call follow-ups; and
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Willing to relocate for the campaign;
1 + cycles of campaign experience OR a relevant internship experience is preferred, but not required;
Previous field experience highly desired;
Basic knowledge of Google Suite and Excel;
Strong time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail;
Positive attitude and willingness to learn;
Willingness to work and be reachable outside normal business hours;
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; and
Experience with NGP is preferred, but not required.
