Position Overview
Reporting to the Communications Director, the Content Specialist is responsible for writing, editing, and organizing original content that supports NAPAWF’s mission and broader communications strategy. They serve as a critical part of the communications team serving as a collaborative partner with other NAPAWF teams and stakeholders, including the Field, Policy, and Development departments to support and execute strategic communications goals.
Content Creation
Write and edit content, including press releases, op-eds, emails, messaging guides, and other external communications pieces in collaboration with the Communications Director for multiple platforms and audiences
Develop and deliver tailored messaging among internal and external audiences
Contribute to the design and production of print and electronic communications such as electronic newsletters, emails, and other collateral materials as assigned
Adhere to editorial calendar, goals, and timelines
Ensure all communications are accurate and thoroughly edited and messaging is consistent across channels
Support development and production of annual reports, impact infographics, and evergreen materials
Event Support
Support the planning, scripting, marketing, and production of external events
Support with execution of a variety of profile-raising events and projects for the organization
Planning and Strategy
Work closely across teams - Policy, Field, and Development - to outline communications projects, create compelling content, determine timelines, and coordinate communications goals
Work closely with digital engagement team to ensure continuity of messaging across channels
Other
Qualifications
2-3 years of relevant work experience in marketing, public relations, communications, or a related field
Excellent writing and editing skills, AP Style proficient
Demonstrated experience developing campaigns for social media, email marketing, and content creation
Ability to work across teams and independently
Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
Bilingual/multilingual skills and graphic design experience helpful, but not required
Occasional travel may be required
SALARY & BENEFITS
The annual salary for this position is $55,000 - $60,000, commensurate with experience.
A highly competitive benefits package includes a 401(k) plan, medical, dental, and vision insurance. NAPAWF's medical plan is covered by NAPAWF at 100% for employees and eligible dependents with no out-of-pocket in-network costs, including visits, tests, prescription drugs and other related costs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position can be based anywhere in the metro areas of Washington D.C., New York, NY, Atlanta, GA, St. Petersburg, FL or Chicago, IL.
