Incubated at Movement Labs, a leading digital and technology consultancy, Contest Every Race works heavily with state Democratic parties and progressive allies to recruit down-ballot candidates and support local volunteer groups and candidate campaigns. In 2024 we’re laser-focused on defeating Trump.
We’re a nimble organization, and the structure of our team can change multiple times a year. Associates in all our departments unlock our ability to run scalable programs to support thousands of local organizations, prospective candidates, and active campaigns every year.
Responsibilities
Associates will handle 1-2 core realms of responsibility
**Coaching - **Coordinate the coaching program, recruiting, training and managing coaches, ensuring we have enough capacity to recruit candidates and provide human support to thousands of candidates and campaigns.
**Communications - **Plan and implement CER’s communications program. Use data and research to design social media and press assets, distribute to intended audiences and follow up to promote and boost content.
**Community - **Organize the CER Community of local volunteers, candidates, campaigners and allies. Plan and post content, coordinate staffing and management of digital social spaces, drive and track engagement.
**Data & Technology - **Manage data and technology projects to support Contest Every Race programs. Build data for recruitment, local organizing and campaign support projects, and build infrastructure to help CER scale and automate over time.
**Development - **Spearhead CER’s fundraising efforts. Source and create lists, research prospects, compile information needed to make asks, support CER senior staff to make asks, follow up as appropriate.
**Local Organizing - **Work with local Democratic organizations participating in the CER Grants Program. Ensure that they have what they need to complete monthly organizing goals; celebrate and track their work, make sure they get paid.
**Partnerships - **Build relationships with other groups who recruit, train and support down-ballot and first-time candidates. Research and reach out, schedule and hold meetings, coordinate and empower collaboration, track work and follow up as appropriate.
**Program - **Manage client texting and data mapping projects within Contest Every Race. Work with clients, establish timelines, coordinate with all relevant departments, and follow up to ensure projects are completed on time and meet expectations.
**Recruitment - **Manage candidate recruitment programs. Connect with partners, establish timelines, coordinate departments, create materials, and follow up to ensure projects happen on time and meet expectations.

$50,000-$75,000/year in a transparent salary structure with clear levels of advancement, and automatic membership in the collective bargaining unit.
