Coordinated Campaign Director

 

The Jewish Democratic Council of America (JDCA) seeks an experienced, committed, and dynamic Coordinated Campaign Director to help manage JDCA’s work with coordinated campaigns, candidate campaigns, state parties, partner organizations, and other key stakeholders, as well as support various related programming activities. The Coordinated Campaign Director will be a key member of JDCA and JDCA PAC’s Outreach team and will be responsible for developing strategy and the day-to-day management of JDCA’s work with coordinated political campaigns and partner organizations. The Coordinated Campaign Director will also be responsible for managing and employing our outreach to elected officials, political candidates, and community partners for JDCA programming and events. The Coordinated Campaign Director will play an integral role in coordinating across teams to prepare for virtual and in-person programs and coordinating with the offices of elected officials and special guests. Applicants for this role must be detail-oriented, possess strong communication and management skills, and have experience in working with various coordinated and/or other large-scale political or advocacy campaigns and event production. 

 

The person in this role will report to the Chief of Staff and will work directly with the Director of Outreach and Partnerships and Chief Program Officer. We are looking to hire a full-time employee for this role starting May 1 through November 2024. This role can be remote; it does not require living in Washington D.C., where JDCA is headquartered.

 

Duties & Responsibilities: The JDCA Coordinated Campaign Director will hold day-to-day responsibilities that are vital to the organization’s outreach strategy and activities, in addition to our programming and events. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

 

  • Develop and implement JDCA and JDCA PAC’s 2024 coordinated campaign plan.

  • Oversee JDCA’s coordinated direct voter contact work including canvasses, phone and text banks, and analyze data and progress of JDCA coordinated efforts. 

  • Foster relationships and serve as a primary point person with elected officials, political candidates, coordinated campaigns, and community partners for JDCA outreach activities, programs, and events.

  • Serve as the primary contact for coordinated political campaigns, community partners, state Jewish caucuses, and youth organizations affiliated with the Democratic Party. 

  • Support JDCA’s programming team in developing and executing JDCA national, state, and local events. This includes supporting JDCA’s involvement with the Democratic National Convention in August, 2024.

  • Execute, in coordination with the Programming and Outreach teams, programs and events with coordinated campaigns, community partners, and JDCA state chapter and affiliates.

  • Support the Director of Outreach and Partnerships to cultivate JDCA and JDCA PAC’s partnerships through new projects and initiatives. 

  • Coordinate, where possible, with JDCA’s Political/Policy, Communications, Programming, and Development departments to make sure outreach efforts are properly aligned.

  • Communicate the overarching goals of the organization to stakeholders, such as state chapter leadership and partner organizations.

  • Work with a diverse group of stakeholders, including volunteers, students, coalition partners, and JDCA Board members. 

  • Assist with amplifying JDCA’s outreach, partnerships, and public engagement efforts and social media.

 

Experience & Qualifications

  • Self-starter and creative problem solver with strong organizational, interpersonal, and team-building skills. 

  • Superior time-management, presentation, and communication skills, attention to detail, and multi-tasking abilities.

  • Prior campaign and/or political organizing experience is required, preferably with experience in coordinated campaign work. 

  • Strongly preferred: Experience in writing and executing a robust direct voter contact program

  • Experience recruiting, training, and managing volunteers.

  • Strongly Preferred: Knowledge of election-based databases such as NGP EveryAction and/or VAN, especially list management and other outreach tools. 

  • Strongly preferred technical skills: Microsoft Excel (including Xlookup and other medium proficiency tasks) and data analysis software or languages, including Stata or R.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with a dynamic portfolio of responsibilities and managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

This role will end in November 2024. While there is no guarantee, there is potential for extension. Salary commensurate with the applicant’s qualifications, ranging from $75,000 to $90,000.
