Vote Rev Action Fund (VRAF) designs and quickly mainstreams field-tested civic engagement innovations with and for nonprofits that amplify the power of historically disenfranchised communities. During the 2024 cycle, we ran one of the largest site-based relational turnout programs in history, which generated over 6 million contacts in seven states through partnerships with Planned Parenthood, League of Conservation Voters, and Black Men Vote.
In the 2024 General Election we ran a randomized control trial (RCT) of a new tactic, Site-Based Relational Postcards (SBRP), and found that sending a postcard significantly increased turnout by 2.5 percentage points across highly competitive contexts like PA and more rural contexts like MS. We know that we can make SBRP even stronger and boost tens of thousands of net votes in future elections. This summer we’ll kick off a new RCT to measure the effect of a refined version of SBRP, potentially unlocking one of the movement's most powerful in-person tactics ahead of 2028!
Note: Due to the nature of our work we are unable to hire any individuals who aren’t U.S. Citizens, Legal Permanent Residents (Green Card holders), or DACA recipients.
The Analyst will be working on a randomized controlled trial (RCT) of a new canvassing technique, Site-Based Relational Postcards (SBRP). Each day we will receive a flood of data from canvassers, including audio, photos, surveys, GPS, and canvassing interactions. The Analyst will work with the Deputy Director of Research to build and maintain both automated and human-in-the-loop systems to combine, clean, and error check this data. The goal is to catch errors, bad data, or questionable patterns the same day, so they can be addressed in the next day's canvasser feedback. This will likely involve a variety of systems and tools including spreadsheets, SQL queries, and generative AI review and consolidation.
This role will require flexibility, creativity, and an openness to trying new practices. The Analyst will have the opportunity to contribute their own ideas and ways of doing things and to help shape the program execution.
We are dedicated to creating an organization that reflects the diversity of the country we serve. We strongly encourage women, people of color, and others who are underrepresented in campaigns and voter engagement nonprofits to apply.
