  • MOVE Texas Action Fund (501(c)(4) is the political arm of MOVE Texas, an organization dedicated to building the political power of young people in underrepresented communities through civic engagement, leadership development, and issue advocacy.

 

  • MOVE Texas Civic Fund (501(c)(3) is a nonpartisan, nonprofit, grassroots organization building power in underrepresented youth communities through civic education, leadership development, and issue advocacy.

 

MOVE Texas operates throughout Texas and primarily in San Antonio, Laredo, Seguin, San Marcos, Austin, Houston, College Station, Fort Worth, Denton, and Dallas. We plan to continue growing and serving other cities and counties beyond these areas.

Job Summary

 

The Data Operations Coordinator supports in designing and maintaining interdependent data systems to increase collaboration and information sharing across the organization. This position supports creating mission-focused data infrastructure to meet organizational needs, ensure compliance, and promote best practices. They consult with staff members to establish how to strategically collect, handle, analyze, and report data. Collaboratively working across divisions and departments, they provide direct support, training, and guidance to build effective data flows and promote positive system connections. The Data Operations Division leverages these interdependent systems to track, scale, and share our activities and accomplishments, developing a unified reporting strategy to analyze and create a comprehensive narrative through reports, visualizations, and storytelling. The Data Operations Coordinator works alongside the Data Operations Associate and reports directly to the Data Operations Manager. 

 

What You’ll Do 

 

  • Data Operations Division Support

  • Maintain project management for the division’s operations, including updating campaign and work plans, handling network and vendor relationships, and creating division materials and resources.

  • Manage systems and documentation that ensure data integrity of voter, base, donor, and employee data and implement policies, processes, and protocols relating to the division's scope. 

  • Support with data collection, acquisition, and processes across divisions and programs, providing recommendations when possible for better systematization. 

  • Provide staff and volunteers mentorship, guidance, and support to meet their data needs.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by direct and indirect supervisors related to supporting short-term project management and execution while performing other tasks as needed. 

 

  • Data Systems & Employee Relations 

  • Support the organization by maintaining streamlined data management systems, including providing technical and organizing assistance and responding to programmatic requests.

  • Consult with divisions and departments to understand their data needs and facilitate the creation of interdependent systems that increase information sharing. 

  • Equip staff and volunteers with the tools and training to utilize the proper procedures.

  • Conduct follow-up on data and quality control needs, communicating and coordinating with the appropriate staff to resolve them. 

  • Provide support to make data and base-informed decisions for programs, campaigns, partnerships, and initiatives and ensure all metrics and reporting are shared with relevant stakeholders. 

  • Monitor data volunteers and voter tools (e.g., VAN, Every Action, ThruText, ThruTalk) and uphold protocols for storing and processing data in accordance with security and confidentiality requirements.

  • Fulfill reporting expectations and respond to timely requests for data analysis.

 

  • Operations Department Strategy, Metrics & Reporting

  • Work collaboratively with the Operations Department’s management team to maintain and develop organizational processes and procedures that sustain administrative functionality while centering employee needs and well-being. 

  • Support organizational initiatives that promote data literacy, analysis and interpretation, storytelling, tracking, reporting, infrastructure, entry, maintenance, and technology. 

  • Support the Operations Department to ensure data maintenance between the various systems and platform tools. 

 

  • Organizational Accountability 

  • Execute organizational policies, processes, and procedures. 

  • Participate in organizational, departmental, and division meetings and training.

  • Participate in planning committees that advance organizational goals.

  • Provide direct support during organizational days of action. 

  • Monitor 501(c)3/501(c)4 compliance regarding internal and external activities and reporting.

  • Demonstrate the ability to apply skills and knowledge to competently perform job duties and assignments.

  • Project management skills and results-oriented. You are detail-oriented and adaptable, with the ability to translate priorities into projects. You have at least one year of experience providing strategic planning support to supervisors, influencing the development of departmental goals and plans, and managing short-term projects. You have strong administrative, analytical, research, and writing skills. You have the ability to manage several tasks or projects concurrently and prioritize work effectively by meeting team goals. You are a self-starter and able to manage a remote team to success. 

 

  • People support and communication skills._ _You have at least one year of volunteer or project management experience and guiding others to become more confident in their capabilities while delivering results. You can balance people's needs with competing priorities. You have a work style that is flexible and respectful and maintains a supportive, empowering work culture. You have a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff in a team environment to achieve identified goals.   • _Established data experience in political non-profit campaign organizing. _You have at least one year of experience coordinating data strategies implementation for political non-profit campaign organizing, including collecting voter or constituent information, training staff or volunteers on managing information, and utilizing systems for metrics and reporting. You understand how to manage data across different organization sectors and train others to build data skills.   • Established data technical abilities. 

  • Experience in Google Sheets, Excel, Civis Platform and/or Google BigQuery.

  • Experience with tools such as VAN, Every Action, Mobilize, Action Kit, ThruText, ThruTalk, Empower, OutVote, Reach, etc.

  • Experience working with data for progressive political campaigns or similar organizations in Texas.

  • Experience with SQL, relational databases, data pipelines, organizing code, and analytical output in GitHub.

Position Details

This is a ** full-time, permanent, exempt, senior coordinator job-level position** with a 32-hour workweek and comprehensive benefits, including health, vision, and dental insurance, unlimited paid time off, a retirement plan, mileage reimbursement, and more. This position requires the employee to reside in Texas. The Data Operations Coordinator is a** hybrid position (20% in-person, 80% virtual)** that requires reliable access to transportation, wifi, and a dedicated working space. The employee is responsible for maintaining valid travel documentation. Starting salary of**$55,000 with an annual increase of $2,000 a year up to $67,000**. This a non-supervisory position that reports directly to the Senior Data Operations Manager. This is a** union-eligible position**.
