​​​​​​ Database Coordinator

The Brigid Alliance seeks to add a ** Database Coordinator** to its remote team to help the organization sustain significant growth, beckoned by an increasing need for travel support among abortion seekers in the US. 

About: 

The Brigid Alliance (501c3) is a nationwide practical support organization for people who must travel long distances for abortion care. Working across the United States, we arrange and fund confidential travel, lodging, childcare, and logistical assistance, closing the gap between the need for an abortion and the ability to access one. We partner with independent and nationally affiliated clinics, abortion funds, and local and regional practical support organizations. The Brigid Alliance envisions a world where everyone has access to abortion care, uninhibited by stigma, and free of systemic or geographic barriers.

Since launching in August of 2018, The Brigid Alliance has assisted over 5,000 individuals and families from all 50 states. We are a crucial part of the reproductive health ecosystem, connecting the geographic and metaphorical dots between policy, providers, practice, and patients. 

Responsibilities:

The Database Coordinator will be part of a remote team that reports to the Senior Director of External Relations. As the Database Coordinator, you will bolster the department’s capacity with a focus on administrative support and operational capacity. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain the donor database (Raiser’s Edge NXT) by entering gifts, updating records, tracking meeting notes in the database, adding actions, and regularly cleaning data.

  • Participate in department-wide donor and prospect review processes and maintain an organized moves tracking system. 

  • Run weekly and monthly reports to track fundraising progress and custom reports as assigned.

  • Send custom thank-you notes and receipts to donors.

  • Update acknowledgment letter and donation page language on a quarterly basis.

  • Maintain segmented contact lists for personal and mass communications with donors and prospects, keeping information accurate and current.

  • Collect mail from New York City PO Box on a weekly basis, deposit checks into the bank account, and record them in the database.

  • Participate in all department-wide events and campaigns, including two annual appeal campaigns.

  • Participate in virtual monthly and quarterly all-staff meetings and in-person annual all-staff retreat.  

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 1-4 years of experience in any relevant setting.

  • Experience working with Salesforce for nonprofit fundraising.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Proficient in Google Workspace tools, including sheets and mail merge.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and orientation to customer service.

  • Strong research skills.

  • Ability to identify and maximize opportunities and have the ability to effectively prioritize and execute multiple (sometimes urgent) tasks in a dynamic environment.

  • Clear communication with excellent emotional intelligence, and who can build and maintain positive and collaborative relationships with staff at all levels.

  • Possesses a keen attention to detail and organization.

  • Someone who ensures thoroughness in all aspects of work. 

  • Self-motivated, resourceful, creative, and able to work independently and collaboratively with a team.

Work Environment

  • This position will be required to collect mail from Brigid Alliance’s New York City PO Box on a weekly basis, and deposit checks into the bank account. This person will need to have the ability to travel to the PO Box and bank in New York City. 

  • The Brigid Alliance is a New York-originated organization with a fully remote team across the U.S. Staff are in Eastern, Mountain, Central, and Pacific time zones.

  • Current External Relations staff are in the Eastern time zone, this position follows a Monday to Friday work schedule, keeping 9am-5pm Eastern time hours is preferred. 

  • This position will require heavy computer use. 

  • Travel is expected for in-person meetings, events, and conferences as opportunities present themselves (3-5 days at a time, up to 5 times a year)

Compensation and Benefits: 

This is a full-time, exempt position with a starting annual salary range of $70,000 to $85,000, depending on experience; full-time employees are expected to work 40 hours per week. Our benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance (eligible from first day of employment), paid family leave (12 weeks at 100% salary continuation), 403b contributions, PTO (20 days of PTO during the first two years, 25 days of PTO from years two to five, 30 days of PTO for five years or more), sick time, ten holidays plus end of year office closure  (December 24-31 for the Operations & Programs teams; week of MLK Jr. Day for the External Relations team), and monthly remote working stipend ($150 per month, or $75 per semi-monthly payroll). The organization also commits to professional development with a current annual budget of $1,500 per person (prorated based on hire date). Comprehensive benefits details are available upon request.
